Golf:
Near the villa thera are a fantastic Poggio dè Medici Golf club, set in the heart of the beautiful Mugello region , and home of the Ladies Italian Open from 1999 to 2003.
The Course, designed by Italian architect Alvise Rossi Fioravanti and by professional player Baldovino Dassù , allows for four different playing routes within its 18 holes . As you play this fascinating course, you can also appreciate the typical Tuscan scenery , viewed from a vantage point near our villa La valle dè Medici. You will find yourself on a world-class Golf Course deep in the countryside, only a few kilometres from Florence.
Here, you are in the centre of Tuscany's vast wealth of sightseeing and culture, from Siena to San Gimignano , Volterra , Lucca and other world famous attractions.
The course is 6.397 meters long, 5.091 from the Ladies Tees, and 6.519 meters or 7.139 yards from the Championship Tees. A further 9 holes are due to be constructed shortly. There are extensive practise facilities, with a Driving Range complete with shaded driving bays and separate Putting and Pitching Greens. Golf Carts and Clubs are available for rent.
The Course is open all the year round, seven days a week. A PGA Academy Professional is available for private lessons.
