Benissa is often overlooked by visitors to the area as the main coastal road, N332, cuts busily through its outskirts making the traveler think that there is nothing more to this large market town. Should you take the time and turn off the main road at the main square, you will discover a beautifully kept medieval town with narrow cobbled streets, wonderful architecture and one of the biggest cathedrals in the area. If you are new to Spain, or just new to the Costa Blanca, you may be forgiven for thinking that each town is another Benidorm - you could not be more mistaken. The town of Benidorm, now grown to the size of a small city, is very, very different to the rest of the coastline - almost to the point of being a different world. Most of the small towns along the coast are unspoilt and little commercialized. You can quite easily find the Spain that so many people have fallen in love with little fishing villages and quite coves, typical Spanish villages with their narrow streets.
Golf: Moraira Calpe Golf in Benissa
For those of you who spend their holidays or live in Calpe, Moraira, Teulada or Benissa, the golf club Lfach would be a good place to start golfing at the Costa Blanca.
As a 9 hole golf course, it offers a spectacular view over the coastline to the Penon de lfach in Calpe ( a huge impressive rock at the bay). With one putting green, it is one of the smaller courses around. Make sure you give it a try when you are around the area. You find the golf club at the round from Moraira to Calpe after about three km at the Urbanization of San Jaime.
