Leith Court is a popular beach front apartment complex overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches on the South Coast of Barbados. Shopping, restaurants, and the famous St Lawrence Gap are all within walking distance. The complex has a shared pool, in the unique shape of a guitar, and beach access is easy from the garden area.
The south coast of Barbados offers the visitor stretches of white sand beaches, which are popular to locals and visitors alike. Restaurants abound in this area offering some of the most eclectic dishes available in Barbados. From burgers to Thai food and in settings ranging from casual by the sea eateries to up scale, formal, fine dining, you can find just about any menu item the island has to offer at these south coast restaurants!
In St. Lawrence Gap are a host of choices - Pisces (with the most beach front seats in Barbados!), Paulo's Churrasco Do Brasil and Café Sol.
As you move West, towards Bridgetown, you will find in the Worthing area, Guang Dong Chinese Restaurant, Carib Beach Bar (directly on Sandy Beach), Lucky Horseshoe Steak House (open 24 hours), Apsara Restaurant/Tamnak Thai (India and Thai), Bert’s Bar & Restaurant and the renown Champers, overlooking the sea. Continuing on into the Rockley area, there is Quayside Plaza with Just Grillin’ and other small food outlets, and Wytukai at Accra Beach Hotel (the only Polynesian restaurant on the island). As you continue along the coast towards Bridgetown through Hastings, there is Bubba’s Sport Bar, Ackee Tree (for great Rotis), Bistro Monet, The Black Pearl and Tapas (which overlook the Boardwalk and ocean). Near to the Garrison is T.G.I. Friday’s, Mama Mia (Italian) and 39 Steps along with Naru (great for Sushi) in The Savannah Hotel.
Just off Bay Street, heading towards Lighthouse Point is Brown Sugar, The Cruising Club “Dippers Bar and Restaurant” and the Hilton Hotel with its varied selection of restaurants. Further along on Bay Street is Lobster Alive, The Boatyard and Fusion Lounge and Restaurant and of course the renowned Waterfront Café which looks on to the Careenage and has live nightly entertainment.
Heading easterly along Highway 7 is New Century (Chinese), Surfer’s Café and off course, Oistins Bay Gardens where you can have freshly caught fish cooked many ways, and where Friday nights is must see! A little further on through is Cafe Luna, overlooking Enterprise Beach and and at the very southern end of the island is Surfer’s Bay. On the eastern side of the island, beyond the airport you will find the Crane Resort, featuring Zen (Sushi and Japanese) and L’Azure.
There are a host of restaurants along the main West Coast Road (Highway 1) going north. You might consider Scarlet, Daphne’s or the famous Cliff Restaurant. In Holetown itself there is The Mews, Elbow Room, Lexy’s, Spago’s, Nishi and The Tides as well as Flindt’s (which is an excellent patisserie), along with several pizza parlours, cafés, a beach bar and some fast food outlets. There is also good nightlife in Holetown with lively weekend gatherings in 1st and 2nd Street, where the restaurants and bars stand shoulder to shoulder, with some providing live music. Drinkers tend to spill out into the street to mingle, creating an easy-going ‘street party’ type of atmosphere. The current ‘hot spots’ are The Lime Bar in Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, The Mews, The Elbow Room and Lexy’s. Heading north beyond Holetown you could try celeb favourite the Lone Star or the Fish Pot in Speightstown.
