This unique self-catering villa has just about everything you could wish for. It is spacious, beautifully furnished, superbly equipped and luxurious in ambiance. The private, secluded pool is heated during the winter months. Situated in an elevated position it has spectacular sea views and is away from noise and bustle yet remains conveniently close to all essential amenities in the charming, friendly town of Callao Salvaje. An iron gate and high walls make it a safe place to bring children and its proximity to the island’s major road network makes exploring easy. Mobile internet access means you can stay in touch with home or the office from your laptop, and a plasma screen satellite TV that receives UK channels can keep you up to date with your favourite programmes. A deep, shaded balcony with plenty of room for comfortable seating and gently swinging hammocks is the perfect place to relax with a drink before dinner after a day in the sun or exploring the island.
Welcome pack: I provide a welcome pack containing some essentials that you might need before you have a chance to get to the shops. If there is anything specific you require in addition to this then I am very happy to get it for you. The nearest supermarket is a short walk and open long hours, but some flights land at pretty antisocial times.
Useful information: There are useful telephone numbers provided in a file at the villa as well as information about shops, good places to eat, and activities available locally and throughout the island with descriptions, locations and contact numbers. Help is available 24 hours if you have any problems or need advice.
In addition to the cot and high chair there is a pushchair, baby bath, baby swim seat, activity mat and bouncy chair for those of you with young children. I also have a stair gate that I can fit if required.
If your stay is to be your honeymoon then please let me know! I can get anything you ask me to in order to make your arrival and holiday extra special.
More details: The pool is heated to 28 degrees between November and the end of April. If you would like the heating to be turned on at other times of the year then an extra £40 will be levied.
If you would like to know anything else about the property or its environs then please feel free to contact me. It is impossible to answer every question on this website and there may be something specific you need to know that could make a huge difference to the quality of your stay. I love the villa because of it's comfortable open plan space, fantastic view, secluded pool area, peacefulness and easy access to both local amenities and island activities. If these are the sort of things you like then you'll love it too. If you are sun worshippers, it may interest you to know that Callao Salvaje has statistically more hours of sunshine than anywhere else on the island!!
My name is Rachael and I fell in love with the island of Tenerife when I first went there as a tourist in 2006. Its landscape, climate, people and way of life appealed to me enormously and I resolved to buy a house there that I could retire to one day.
I don't get to spend nearly as much time as I used to on the island because of work and family commitments, but it will always be a special place for me and I look forward to being able to go back more and more often in the future.
I like Callao Salvaje because it has good amenities, is close to the really busy tourist areas yet away from the commercial hype that can be a bit too much.
Most of the shopkeepers and restaurant owners speak some English so it's perfect for visitors who may worry about being understood. Everywhere welcomes children and the village has a great community spirit.
I looked at several villas but none gave me the right feeling until I walked into this one. The view, the shaded veranda, the pool and the feeling of spaciousness were all just perfect. It's an easy distance from everything you need and yet peaceful.
Having holidayed in several villas myself and found many of them lacking in even the most basic of things, I made sure that mine was equipped to a very high standard. At the same time I kept it unfussy and comfortable. If the comments in my guest book are anything to go by then I made the right decisions! I hope that you will like it too.
The regional capital of Adeje is just a 10 min drive and the resorts of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos are a short journey by car. Callao Salvaje is on the major road network so travelling is easy.
The local beach has recently undergone an extensive €1.2m renovation. Other beautiful beaches with toilets/changing/restaurants etc are within easy driving distance, 10 - 20min. Descriptions, pictures and locations of numerous beaches are at the villa. Close by are watersports, gyms, purpose built lidos and fun things for kids to do such as Siam Park and other theme parks, go karting, bowling and camel riding. Golf Costa Adeje is 5 miles away, and several other excellent golf courses not much further. Details are at the villa. I recommend car hire to get the most from your holiday, but excellent bars and restaurants to suit every age, taste and budget, shops, banks, a chemist, a doctor and a spa/sports complex are a 10min walk away.
Other Activities: Lots of fun things for children, whale watching, hang gliding, hiking, designer shopping, architecture, churches, fiestas and much more.
Golf: The villa is within easy driving distance of several superb golf courses, a couple of them international. The nearest (just 5 miles away) is Golf Costa Adeje - a 27 hole course designed by Pepe Gancedo with wide greens and obstacles such as lakes and gorges. Other designers include Seve Ballesteros (Buenavista Golf) and Maria Olazabal's company Integral Golf Design (Centro de Golf Los Palos). Full details of all the courses including locations, photographs, booking details etc are in a folder at the villa or can be found on the Internet.
