Photos and Description of the Vence vacation apartment rental S/C 2/3 bed apt. with pool -close Matisse Chapel

The apartment is on the ground floor of a substantially built detached house set in lush gardens with quince pomegranate and vines, with small boules pitch and only ten minutes walk into town the ambiance is one of a peaceful forested hide-away. The apartment's salon has a fully equipped American kitchen and opens on to a large patio and swimming pool. There are 2 bedrooms - a double bed and two singles. Third room has a sofa bed and writing table. Two shower rooms with toilets. Access to ground floor is external via ramp or steps with a choice of two entrances. The house is in a private enclave of ten individual houses. Free parking is available either in the resident / guest parking bay, or in the house driveway. Whilst it is not essential to have a car walking may not be everyone's choice, although there are plenty of taxis. The bus takes about one hour to the airport, but availability depends on times of arrival and departure.

The apartment is 10mins walk into Vence and 4mins from Matisse's chapel. Vence with its daily markets of food and clothes is one of the first historic Roman Provencal towns outside Nice and yet remains in the Cote d'Azur. Only 3K from St Paul de Vence legendary home to stars of French cinema; painters Picasso and Matisse, and now the Maeght Foundation of Modern Art whose winding tiny cobbled streets are crammed with seductive boutiques and art galleries. Vence's medieval city tucked inside the modern town is thickly walled with arched gateways; a magical fairy tale labyrinth of such narrow streets,the houses almost touch each other. Full of hidden squares and restaurants to suit every palate the old city bustles even on a Sunday. Vence is a perfect centre for sightseeing with regular bus services to Nice,and Cagnes sur Mer (Renoir's house). From Cagnes the train takes you to west to Cannes and St Tropez and east into Italy where Ventimiglia's market is a bargain hunter's paradise
