Would you like to relax, explore the Greek countryside, are you interested in the Greek history or just want to enjoy the sun and swim in a clear sea? Our friendly, family house is just the place to stay for your holidays. Our recently modernised country house is located in the friendly, typical Greek village of Lefkakia (10min by car from Nafplion and the beach). It has 2 seperate bedrooms, a cosy sitting/dining area, a fully equiped kitchen, bathroom, private parking and above all a great garden at the front and the rear of the house. Use the barbecue and enjoy your meal on our veranda, or the terrace, whilst admiring the views of the gulf and the surrounding countryside. With super views of the sea, mountains, orange groves and the surrounding villages. You won't get bored, there are plenty of great beaches nearby, as well as the classical town of Nafplion and several famous archaeological sites.

Our family house is tucked away at the back of the traditional village of Lefkakia, away from traffic, within easy access to the beach resort of Tolo and the romantic Venetian town of Nafplion (both 10 min by car). Lefkakia is a typical Greek village with a small square were children can play, 2 good taverns, 'kafeneion's' and some small shops. One can find several secluded beaches nearby, as well as the famous archaeological sites of Epidavros and Myceane. A great way to combine a beach holiday with some historical sightseeing. Nafplion is well-known for its fortress of Palamidi, exclusive boutiques, trendy cafe's, excellent restaurants and busy nightlife. Tolo, although commercialized, still has the charm of the fisherman's village it once was. The small harbor with its fishing boats and the small islands, give you a beautiful scenery whilst enjoying your meal in one of the taverns right on the beach.

Notes: Paved garden at entrance of the house, few steps up to front door and veranda. Reception area with storage space. Dining/sitting area has traditional built in shelves and fireplace. Nearby beaches: The sandy beach at Tolo is at 5km (approx. 10min by car). There are sun beds and umbrellas for rent, as well as various water sports. Other beaches nearby are 'Kastraki', behind Ancient Asini and 'Plaka' at Drepano. They have pebbles and are not so commercialised, more popular with greeks. Or go a bit further, following the coastal road and find more secluded beaches at Vivari, Condili, Candia, and Iria. It is possible to rent a small motor boat in Tolo and go by boat to the little islands of Tolo with their small private bays.

Sightseeing: Famous archaeological sites to visit at the Peloponese: Tyrinth, (15min by car), Epidavros, Myceane (45min by car), Olympia (2,5 hours), Sparti and Mystras (2,5 hours), Ancient Corinth (1,5 hours). Athens (Acropolis, National Museum) is about 2 hours driving, and Delphi 4 hours whilst crossing the Corinth Canal, or taking the new spectacular bridge. If you don't like to drive, there are organised excursions by bus from Tolo, with professional english tour guides. Or take one of the cruises from Tolo to the islands of Spetses, Hydra and Poros in the Saronic Gulf.

Considering what usually are the level of greek standards when it comes to accomodation; this house is a very good deal. Well located, close to Nafplio for intense nightlife and close to small isolated beaches, but also close to some major acheological sites.
Clean house; nice garden, furnished in a simple but nice way.

Nice house near Tolo

This is a very pleasant house with clean basic facilities. Don't expect luxury but it is certainly good value. The garden is a great space for enjoying long lunches or reading. You have plenty of shade as well as sunshine. We had a very enjoyable time there. What was really nice is that there are lots of bits and pieces there which you often have to buy in houses/villas - toilet paper, salt, oil and spices etc. so it means you don't have to do a big shop for small items. The house was clean. The agent running it was very helpful. She gives you plenty of time, is happy to explain everything and tell you about the area. There are also books and maps. It is a good base for the lovely Nafplio and ancient sites or for beaches.
