One and two bedroom apartments available for short or long term lets

Character apartment building close to the river and historic Pont Vieux in Centre of Carcassonne. The building including all communal areas has been totally renovated to offer a selection of four one bedroom apartments and one two bedroom apartment furnished to a very high standard with new fitted kitchens. All mod cons including English Satellite TV and WiFi internet.

Well established, friendly English owners living locally.

Property owners offer free pick up from Carcassonne Airport or train station with supermarket stop en route.

The apartments are accessed via a traditional winding French staircase tiled with terre cuite tiles. There are two one bedroom apartments on the first floor and two one bedroom apartments on the second floor. On the third floor, the two bedroom apartment has its own shaded roof terrace for outdoor eating with a lovely view of the castle.

We offer discounts for bookings of more than one apartment and also for longer stays. Each of the one bedroom apartments are equipped with dining furniture for four people. Friends can book two one bedroom apartments on the same floor so they have their own space and en suite bathroom whilst being able to eat and socialize together.

Rue du Pont Vieux is a prime location as it is located within a few minutes walk of Carcassonne town centre and Carcassonne Tourist Office. Two UNESCO World Heritage sites- Carcassonne Cite and the Canal du Midi are also within a few minutes walk from rue du Pont Vieux.

We wanted to keep to a French theme when naming the apartments so we decided to name them after some of Napoleon Bonaparte's most famous Peninsula Marshalls - Ney, Mortier, Suchet, Marmont and Massena.

Located on the first floor, this light and airy apartment has a large open plan kitchen/living area. As with all our apartments there is a modern fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fan oven, ceramic hob, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and plenty of utensils. The living room is equipped with a quality sofa bed so an extra person can be accommodated. Satellite TV and WiFi Internet provided. Double bedroom with good quality king size bed (guests often complement us on how comfortable our beds are). Large walk in shower with high quality tiles and fittings.

Golf: Carcassonne golf course is a five minute drive from the apartments. A very scenic and enjoyable course to play.

There are several other courses within an hours drive from Carcassonne.

The apartment owner is familiar with a couple of the courses so please don't hesitate to ask for more information.

Ski: Excellent value for money sk-ing in the Pyrenees. Nearest resort within 2 hours.

Fabulous

This is an excellent property, very clean, with modern furnishings and high standards. I found the location to be perfect and I actually parked my car on the street for my entire stay and walked everywhere. Jason was exceptionally kind when I got lost on arrival (my fault, entirely!) and he came to find me so that I could follow in my rental car to a parking spot right in front of the apartments. I would highly recommend staying here and in fact, I hope to return some day. Three nights was definitely not enough to explore all of the country around Carcassonne! I would recommend visiting the tourist office, on arrival, and signing-up for a 2 1/2 hour walking tour of La Cite and La Bastide (the apartment is located in-between the two, which is ideal). Then you have an idea of what you might want to explore further, for the rest of your stay. I liked the cruise on the Canal du Midi, but the shorter one was fully-booked early, and I think that the longer cruise was too long. In fact, a bike ride along the Canal might be better if you ride. Whatever you do, make sure to try the cassoulet!

Just arrived back from staying at the apartment. It was really comfortable and everything you needed was there. Jason was very friendly and only at the end of the phone if there was a problem. There was plently to do in the area, and if you want to travel out to Limoux and Quillan then get the train/bus as it is only a euro each way! Then once in Quillan you can get a bus to Perpignan for a euro too. Excellent value for money.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children

Carcassonne - YES !!!

We enjoyed our stay in this apartment in the Rue de Vieux Pont. The listing description was accurate and the property clean and well maintained. Jason had been good during the booking arrangements and provided good customer service.
We would recommend a friend or relative to stay here.It's well placed between the Bastide part of the city and the medieval city.
The Saturday market is something to behold both in scope and low prices .There is an excellent e1 train to Quillan up the Aude valley and 1e bus services around the city.

Perfect base

When we arrived we thought we had the wrong place because from the outside the place looks a bit tatty but that was the last disappointment of the week.

The apartment is superb, really comfy bed, great TV and WiFi for those relaxing evenings in. All the kitchen facilities you need if you want to cook and plenty of parking available around.

The location is excellent, 5 minutes walk from the stunning castle and ancient city and 5 minutes the other way from the 'new' town and the shops.

After a month staying in hotels this apartment was an absolute joy.

Owner's Response: Being so close to two UNESCO world heritage sites- Carcassonne Cite and the Canal du Midi we have to comply with strict planning rules particularly regarding the facade of the building. We have completed the first phase of this work which was renewing the chaux (lime) render and painting of windows and shutters. Early in 2013 to minimise any disruption to our guests,we will be repairing and painting the original wooden shop facade all in compliance with the Historic Monuments Department specification. As these guests rightly point out the wooden shop facade is a bit tatty but this does not detract from the apartments.

We should also point out here the advantage of us owning the whole apartment building, as many guests comment on how pleasant the communal hallway and stairwell is. We have stayed in apartments ourselves where the communal areas have graffiti on the walls.

These guests also appreciated that we have concentrated our efforts on making the apartments as comfortable as possible and the excellent position in relation to ameneties and particularly parking.
When compared to hotel prices in Carcassonne our apartments offer excellent value for money and far more space.
