Intimate and quiet in a small greek village

The villa is situated near the center of a small Cretan village, and there is a walking distance to everything you need (e.g. fresh bread every morning from the local bakery). Since it is well hidden behind mandarin trees and walls, you have enough private life. The villa is clean and in an excellent condition, and is well-equipped in the kitchen! On arrival we even found fresh bread, butter, wine and cold table water in the fridge! It has two floors. The ground floor consists of a living room with 2 sofas (easily turned into beds), a dining table with 4 chairs, a small table and a small TV with a DVD-player and a radio/CD-player. The living room is integrated with the kitchen which has a dish washing machine, stove, microwave oven, water boiler and even a toaster! And there are supplies of things you only need tiny amounts of like salt, pepper, cleaning agents etc. The ground floor also has a bathroom w/shower. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom w/shower. One bedroom has a double bed with access to a nice south-facing balcony, and the other one has two single beds. And there is even access to the roof which provide a nice view of the village with surroundings - perfect for a relaxing private time on a sunbed or stargazing at night. Outside the entrance there is a small marble table with 2 chairs, and there is also an exit from the kitchen to a small "backyard" having a small wooden table with 3 chairs (and where the laundry machine is found). Emathia is the end unit of a set of chained house complex having six units and a shared swimming pool with sunbeds. The caretakers, Ken and Helen, live in the same complex and are easily reached if needed. They will also drive and do things for you for a small charge if you don't have a car or know your way around. The villa is excellent if you want to experience greek everyday life in a small and intimate greek village, and the surroundings provide many good opportunities for walks. If beach life is important you should have a car since the best nearby beach is in Agia Pelagia about 8 km away (yes, Fodele beach is only 3 km away but quite windy and uncalm sea..), But if a swimming pool and a sunbed is sufficient then you really don't need a car. It is suitable for families with a small baby since there is a ramp up from the gate (suitable for a trolley) and the parents with the baby have the necessary facilities at the ground floor.
