Newly Built (completed June 07) privately owned Villa for rent in Kalamaki, 2min from nearest supermarket, internet cafe, 10 min walk from Protected Beach and town Centre. The complex is completely private and has intercom access, a/c in all rooms, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, downstairs WC, TV/DVD, there are two balconies, one leading from the two bedrooms and one from the sitting room overlooking the pool. Villa for rent out of a complex of 14 in total it boasts 2 pools and 1 kiddies pool, a barbeque area and two outdoor showers, the grounds are maintained on a daily basis, it is surrounded by olive trees and mountains and yet is only two minutes walk from the nearest supermarket and five mins from the famed Micheleo's restaurant ideal for those not into commercial holidays yet are very close to all amenities should you wish to do so, there is ample parking with the complex. This property is a jewel in the crown of beautiful Zaynkthos.
Taxis & Supermarket: Although the complex is only 5 mins from the Airport the charge to get to the complex in a taxi is approximately 12-15 Euro. This was surprising considering the Airport is so close, but I am told this is a set charge set up by the Taxi Drivers of the Island. Taxis around the area of Kalamaki are a set charge of 5 Euro.
Lidl Supermarket is based just outside Zante and is worth a visit to stock up on the necessary items which can prove quite costly in the normal supermarkets of the resorts. This is located very near the airport on the Keri Road.
Air conditioning: Due to the very high cost of electricty there will be a charge for A/C of 25 euro per week. This is optional and if you decide you would like A/C please inform us at time of booking so we can leave the remote controls in the property for your use. If using AC please also remember to turn them off when not in use due to overloading and the costly repairs for same.
Safety Deposit Box / Key Safe: A Safety Deposit Box and Key Safe are supplied free of charge for your convenience
Had a fabulous time in Kalamaki. Lovely house, very clean and cool (trust me you need in 40 C heat!!) The pools were amazing and it was so handy to have them right outside your doorstep. I love the water but there's nothing worse than having to carry all our towels/sun cream/drinks/snacks to the beach only to get there and find it crowded and full of noisy children (I've nothing against them btw); this way I could strawl inside anytime I wanted a drink or to watch a bit of TV.
The owner was very helpful; provide loads of information about the area, tips on the best places to eat beforehand. Definitely try Cristos down the road, best stifado on the island!!!
Zakynthos town is definitely worth a trip, very nice tavernas/restaurants and nice shops if you feel like spending. Go in the evening as the heat is unbearable during the day.
If you're looking for a nice, clean and comfortable house away from home where you can relax and truly enjoy a fabulous holiday Kalamaki court is the place to go!!!!
Just returned from Zante, I (42yr) was there with my Wife (39yr), son (9yr), Neice(20yr) and father-in-law (66yr). What a wonderful relaxing holiday. Everyone enjoyed Kalamaki, the villa and surroundings. The complex was so so friendly and we met a great bunch of people sharing the complex. There are plenty of brilliant places to eat out on a night. We ate out somewhere different nearly every night. The best thing we liked about Kalamaki Court was the safety of my son in the complex. We could let him play around with the other children knowing that he was completey safe. He spent loads of time hunting for lizards and frogs with the other kids. Brilliant Brillant place to stop. You don't need a car as the taxis to the town and back are only 5 euro each way, but I would advise to get a car.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect on this holiday as I was used to staying in hotels and do love my creature comforts, but we were enticed by the photographs and rave review of friends re Zakynthos and went ahead and booked this villa. (we, being Myself, my husband and our girls aged 5 and 7). I shouldn't have worried as we arrived to a spotlessly clean villa, with every mod-con you can imagine.(AC, Washing machine, dishwasher, Microwave, Full sized oven, fridge-freezer, communal BBQ, TV/DVD). But the best part was the pools, and the fact they're on your doorstep, no hiking up and down steps with towels and creams, books ect, plus I could sit at the table in the shade and have lunch with the kids in full view of me. They have a ball with their choices of pools and unlike most hotels they could use lilo's ect. When they got hungry or too hot or whatever they could just pop inside and meet their needs. It was also dead handy to be able to pop around the corner to the local supermarket for the essentials but I'd suggest going to Lidls (maybe 2 or 3 miles away) for a big shop. Whenever we called a taxi it came within 5 mins. The beaches are fabulous, mind the turtles though. Kalamaki town is a short hop away. I'd recommend the Melon Bar, Drunken Corner, Mermaids restaurant and Crystal beach is very close too, I'd recommend the Crystal beach hotel, the Oceanic and Georgia Restaurant. It's very child friendly and most of the Stag and Hens parties seem to be centred in Agassi (TG) so no loss there then! Kalamaki Ct. is about 10 mins from the airport. It's gated, so very safe for kids. There are 2 restaurants in 5 mins walk. I recommend Christos (his wife Emilia is the best cook on the island and grow most of her own ingredients). You're surrounded by Olive tress with a few orange trees here and there to add to the colour. . It did myself and hubby wonders to be able to relax so much especially with the kids. If you want to buy cigs it's €30 for 200. Leather and jewellery is also cheap. You can also get the "designer" bags and the "latest dvds" quite readily. I also appreciated the fact that an english lady from the mgt. company dropped in at the start to make sure we had everything that we needed and to answer any question we may have had. I highly recommend this Villa, especially because of the safety and privacy it afforded us, also because of it’s accessibility to everything. I'm already saving for next yrs return visit.
Stayed here with my husband and three kids (all under age 7) in July. Had an absolutely fantastic time. Cot there on arrival and accomodation best we have ever stayed in. Already planning return trip next year.
Beautifull villa, near sea and restaurants. Best to rent a car for the duration as lots of places to visit. Car not required in the evening as Taxi's are available and cheap to take you into town or its a 30 minute walk. The villa was clean, the pools were kept spot less. The bathroom flooded every night but I think this was caused by a blockage and I hope has now been sorted, when it did flood it sent water down the stairs !! It is a small complex and busy with children in the summer holidays.
I would recommend and go back. Zakynthos is a fantastic island and the beach near Kalamaki court the best.
Myself and my son and a friend and her 2 children stayed at this villa in August (end) it was a wonderful holiday. The description is accurate and the villa was of an excellent standard. There is lots of information sent prior to trip and also at the villa. The complex is very very safe and the layout very family friendly. The villa is well equipped with everything you would need. The lady who looks after the villa was wondeful and very helpful in helping guest feel at ease but also enabling them to get their bearings. The whole holiday feels very relaxed and the area is not to over developed. We will certainly book again.
Nearby Turtle Beach, a protected turtle beach. 10min walk from the Resort Centre of Kalamaki, and a 5 minute drive from the Airport, it is also located just 4km from Zante town. The complex has all the extras for someone wanting to chill out listen to the birds and view the fabulous mountains, you can even see hens nesting at the end of the road. The whole complex is surrounded by olive trees and the landscaped gardens include your very own herb garden. Nearby is a traditional Greek Tavern owned by Christos and his wife Emily who not only cook and serve their own home cooked food but will sit and chat with you and teach you a few Greek words. It is also a five minute walk from the famed Michaelo's a fantastic restaurant which is very very reasonable, if you don't fancy walking the taxi fare for anywhere in the area is 5euro.
