'THE HIDDEN JEWEL OF THE ARIEGE.:
Our newly renovated barn 'Le Tournesol' is situated a short drive from Mirepoix and provides a comfortable base from which to explore this exquisite part of France. Mirepoix has at its centre a medieval square surrounded by 13th century timbered houses supported on impressive oaken arcades, which provide wide, shady walkways around the square which is an ideal spot for watching the world go by from one of its several cafes. Each Monday morning there is a typical French market held in the square and is an experience not to be missed.Pamiers also has much to offer, both as a busy market town and an excellent place to shop and also has interesting historical links to the Cathars.
