BEAUTIFUL SWISS SKI CHALET IN VEYSONNAZ, 4 VALLEYS, SLEEPS 10+

All you need is ... space, a great view and comfort. And that is certainly what you will find in the chalet in Veysonnaz amongst many other nice things. We were absolutely delighted with the chalet. First off all the region is great as well in winter as in summer time, skiing for all levels up to 3300 meters high. Very helpful people in the village and the owner gives you plenty of tips to make your stay as easy and as comfortable as possible.
The chalet is very well organized. There is a large entry, very useful to leave your shoes, backpacks, coats or whatever your thing is in the great Swiss outdoors. You will also find the washing machine there.
On the first floor you'll find 4 bedrooms and bathrooms nice and clean. On the second floor there is a large living room with dining table and a well organized kitchen. In the kitchen there is all you need (even if you are a foody who likes to cook) and a nice expresso machine. Due to it's position on the second floor, there is a great view on the valley of Sion and Nendaz. There is a large balcony on the front and a terrace with table and chairs. You can sit in the sun almost all day long because the chalet is at about 1700m high south orientated and the valley is very wide. That makes the chalet very bright very light, there are large windows and if too much you can close the blinds. We very much liked the nice couch where you can slow down and get lost in a good book or have a drink with friends. And there is a working fire place! (not always the case). Finally on the third floor there is the master bedroom with a great view, a little study in the hall with view on the living room and a seperate bathroom with toilet, shower and large jaccusi bath.
We stayed with 8, but certainly no problem for 10 comfortably. You don't need to sleep on the couch. We enjoyed the space, the light, the view and the ski!
You can (should) go outside all day long, but you can also enjoy a lazy day in the house. No problem to park the car. There is a garage although we didn't have need of it. The skilift is still at walking distance. There is all you need in the quiet village. Sion and Nendaz or the nice Val d'Hérence are easy to reach.

We stayed with ten - plus an extra two students pushed in - in the Gypaete and it was more than big and comfortable enough to provide us all with a wonderful stay. All the amenities you could wish, the tablet generation loved the fast WiFi-internet.
Beautiful views across the Rhone valley, short walking distance to the busstop with all your skiing gear, but also within easy walking distance of the shops in the village.

We stayed here in March 2008 and it was a wonderful introduction to skiing with our kids (5 and 8) as it was all so easy. We went with another family and the kids were all accommodated on their own floor and the space upstairs was wonderfully free later on allowing a good balance of adult and kid time. There was a local creche that was both very friendly (and useful on the one white-out day) and the kids loved it and the ski schools were at the top of the 1st lift that made for a very easy transition from looking after kids to getting to the main ski areas. And it was easy to collect them at lunch, fill them with pizza and then ski the afternoon with them.

Veysonnaz itself is charming and the bars are a mix of relaxed rural charm and places filled with mad natives who clearly relish living in this beautiful part of the world. The skiing is varied and for us excellent and by end of the week nothing to scare the kids on the way back down from ski-school yet plenty of challenging stuff. Its also not on the British package holiday circuit so its a real find and we will be heading back.
