Superb apartment in a super location. Close to beach and old village.

This modern home is a luxury apartment offering every comfort for the discerning holidaymaker. Leather sofas, satellite TV, built-in kitchen appliances and to top it all a fantastic sea view through the patio windows that lead on to the large balcony.

The stunning lounge is furnished with your comfort in mind. It has satellite TV, DVD player, radio/CD and ipod player, whilst the modern kitchen and dining area is equipped for your convenience. Built-in appliances include electric oven, 4 ring gas hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. With a microwave and all other kitchen utensils supplied, all you need do is turn up and relax.

Continued from top of page: Along the hall are 2 large bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed plus plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for your holiday outfits. It has the added luxury of its own en-suite. The second bedroom is a large room with two single beds, again, having more than ample space for your holiday wardrobe. Completing the apartment is a large, fully tiled bathroom having bath as well as a separate shower cubicle.

Outside the apartment is an appointed car space and, for your enjoyment, a communal garden adjoining the cliff top.

The apartment itself is in a super location in Shanklin, recently named one of the sunniest resorts in the British Isles. Being only 5 minutes walk from this olde world village with its thatched cottages and tea-rooms, 4 minutes walk from the entrance to Shanklin Chine and 3 minutes walk from the path down to the safe, sandy beach, the only problem you’ll have on holiday is deciding where to spend the day.

You’ll be spoilt for choice in the evenings, too, with a number of good quality pubs and restaurants in the village, as well as the usual ‘take-aways’. If you’d rather travel further afield, the island is home to some top class eateries where you may find yourself dining alongside some well-known celebrities.

Why Owner chose Shanklin

Shanklin is our favourite place on the island because it has so much to offer - a glorious sea front with golden sands, a cliff top walk, a lovely Chine that meanders through gardens to the sea front, parks and gardens a-plenty and of course the Olde Village with all its character. Thatched tea-rooms, thatched pubs, thatched shops - it's all here, but further afield there's Godshill, a favourite tourist spot, Culver Cliff with glorious views across Sandown and Shanklin as well as St Helens and Bembridge. Cowes and Yarmouth both famous for yachting, Ventnor, a Victorian seaside resort, Sandown with its zoo on the sea front, Alum Bay with its coloured sand cliffs, The famous Needles - far too much to see in a week - its a piece of unspoilt Old England with the best sunshine record in the UK.

When we were looking to purchase a property we looked at several in Shanklin before we viewed this one. We walked into the lounge and it just had that wow factor - the view was terrific and compared to many is so spacious. We defy anyone not to be impressed when they're inside this apartment.

What makes this apartment unique

Huge balcony with a great sea view - lovely to sit in the sunshine relaxing. Lounge is large and light and the bedrooms are spacious. We have never seen such a large bathroom - a bath and a separate shower cubicle and plenty of room to dance around! It also has the added luxury of an en-suite to the master bedroom.

Location is quiet yet so convenient for everywhere. We may be biased but we think its perfect!

Just wanted to say thank you for the use of your lovely apartment, it really surpassed our expectations, so clean and comfortable, a real home from home. The bedrooms are really quite spacious, particularly the master which had more than enough room for our little grandson's travel cot. My daughter-in-law was particularly taken with the power shower in the en-suite which she wanted to take home with her!

I liked very much the open-plan layout of the kitchen/dining/lounge area, again spacious, bright and airy with the two big patio doors. It was nice to cook and talk to the family at the same time, not something I can do in my small kitchen at home. No problems at all with the balcony and our little 3 year old as he was only allowed out there when we were with him and we kept the doors locked at all other times to prevent him sneaking out.

Lovely walks into Shanklin to stroll around the shops (took the short cut by the Chine) and several times down the cliff path to the huge beach.

We had a fantastic mini-break and were so lucky with the weather, especially the Saturday and Sunday, when it was glorious. Drove to Godshill village which was so beautiful and had a delicious lunch at The Essex followed by a cream tea at the place with the big garden down the road (cant remember the name).

Will definitely be coming back again, for longer next time. Can't think why anyone would want to stay in B&B really, when they can rent a whole apartment for less and get so much more for their money.

Owner's Response: We love to welcome guests back again - after all, that's the best recommendation we could have! The beauty of the apartment is that it is in a quiet location yet so handy for the village with its pubs, restaurants and tea rooms.
We never tire of the view of Culver Cliff from the balcony - and if you walk or drive up there the view from up there is one of the best ever!

A Great Base for the Island

We found this to be a comfortable modern and clean apartment which is in a great location within easy walking distance of Shanklin old town.

The large balcony is great to sit out on and we were able to make good use of it as we had good weather during our week on the island, Even on the one occasion it rained I was still able to sit out there without getting wet,

We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Just right for a base in Shanklin

Arrangements for our week there were handled seamlessly, and on arrival you could not ask for a place to be better prepared. The rooms were excellent, and the location perfect for being in Old Shanklin. Both Shanklin Regatta and Shanklin Carnival took place during the week, but there was always space for quiet if one wanted, and if one loves steps, the beach was but 5 minutes walk away. Could there be some serving dishes next time? Would definitely recommend a stay.

Its always a little nerve wracking to book somewhere and hope its as expected when you arrive - we like to feel that what you see is what you get and the apartment is as described.

Perfect apartment for a lovely relaxing holiday

The apartment is really big and spacious and very well equipped and spotlessly clean and tidy. We have been to the Isle of Wight many times and this has got to be the best apartment we have stayed in. It is in a lovely position , very peaceful but convenient for Shanklin , plus some amazing walks.The balcony is lovely to sit out and have your meals and a glass of wine in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay and were sorry to leave. Thanks to Bev for leaving us a bottle of wine and some biscuits , a really nice welcome touch, she has been very helpful and speedy with her replies all the way through the booking. I would recommend the apartment to anyone.

Owner's Response: Hard to believe it is so peaceful and yet so handy for the restaurants and tea shops in Shanklin. We love sitting on the balcony for breakfast, too and looking out over Culver Cliff. Up on the cliff top there are amazing views of the bay plus views of Bembridge the other side. One of our favourite walks is from the apartment along the sea front of Shanklin then Sandown and up the cliff to Culver Down. A well deserved drink and refreshment at either the cafe or the pub and then back again - a fair walk there and back but with stops both ways it makes for a good day. Of course there have been times we've only got a far as a cafe on Shanklin sea front !!

Our holiday abroad in the UK

We enjoyed our 12 night stay in this lovely spacious apartment. We found it to be very clean with everything we needed to have a relaxing holiday. The large balcony is a fabulous space to enjoy breakfast in the sun ( we were very fortunate with the weather), or a glass of wine in the evening. The lift is very useful to take your luggage up to the apartment.

The situation is excellent, very close to the old town of Shanklin with many excellent restaurants, and shops for browsing. The coastal path is accessible by turning left up the road, excellent for burning off the extra holiday calories! The walk to Ventor is very enjoyable with many sea views along the way.

The Owner (Bev) kept us fully informed throughout the booking process by email.

We would definitely recommend a stay in this apartment.

Shanklin is a lovely resort with a long promenade leading to Sandown, providing an easy flat level walk with many refreshment stops if required. It is well situated for visiting other interesting resorts on the island. We enjoyed a trip to Portsmouth Historic Shipyard from Ryde using the hovercraft (only a 10 min ride and runs every half an hour).

Owner's Response: The apartment is situated on the coastal path so left or right are lovely walks but you don't have to be a keen walker to enjoy what is so close to hand. Just 3-4 minutes walk down the road is lovely Rylstone Gardens with its bandstand and summer outdoor concerts, its cafe and crazy golf. Next to that is the entrance to Shanklin Chine - a lovely meander down to the sea front plus information about the Pluto line - a fascinating true story of the pipeline that went from here under the sea all the way to France during the war. Shanklin has a lot of charm in the old village as well as a lovely beach - what more could anyone want?

Real 5 star accommodation in an excellent location

We had a lovely stay in this fine quality well proportioned apartment. We found it to be spotlessly clean with everything we needed for a comfortable break.

With only a short walk to the old village of Shanklin and coastal paths, it is situated in an excellent location.

We have stayed on the Island many times over the years, in various self catering accommodation, but this was the first time we had considered an apartment. With this experience, we should have done it years ago.

The Owner (Bev) kept us fully informed throughout the booking process via email and phone and was very friendly.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to others and may well revisit ourselves in the not too distant future.

Owner's Response: I can't really add to this, to be honest - it seems to say it all - the location is close to many amenities and yet very quiet. We like to keep guests informed all the way through the booking process to ensure all runs smoothly. This is a holiday after all, and no-one wants to worry as to whether everything is as advertised. No-one wants surprises (unless they're all pleasant) when they arrive - we feel that what you see on our website is what you get - all as described, if not better. It is hard to describe a view but this apartment has it - plus spacious rooms and comfort. All reviews go on this website, and guests opinions matter most. We're pleased with what we have achieved and we hope you will be too.

Our apartment is situated in a superb location with sea views. It is on the coastal path between Ventnor to the south and Sandown to the north. 5 min walk will take you to the old village with its thatched tea rooms and restaurants. Just down the road is Rylstone Gardens with its bandstand and also the entrance to Shanklin Chine, a truly wonderful walk through leafy glades which is illuminated during the summer evenings. At the foot of the Chine is Fishermans Cottage, the pub on the beach (which can also be reached by coastal path, just an 8 min walk from our apartment).

Buses run frequently around the island with open-topped as an option. The nearest bus stop is 2- 3 min walk down the road alongside a large open park which has its own pond and ducks.

The island has many attractions for both adults and children alike including Osborne House, the favourite seaside home of Queen Victoria.

Our apartment is an ideal base for the perfect holiday. More information at foot of page.
