Magical Christmas at Edgartown Reunion

Our nuclear family of five, joined after several days by a friend and his young son, spent one of the best vacations ever in the the lovely homes of Edgartown Reunion. All aspects of the houses were perfect: somewhat removed from Edgartown and Vineyard Haven themselves so one felt almost in the country, yet perfectly located to explore all corners of the island with its beautiful seascapes, dramatic cliffs, lighthouses, stunning sunsets, as well as the main towns.
We couldn't have asked for more welcoming, comfortable and well appointed homes Though the weather was mixed, we set out despite cold winds, took long soaks in the hot tub under snowy skies, cooked up huge meals on the top of the line stove, and greatly enjoyed the variety of books and games. Never turned on the TVs, though there were many of them. Lngering over gourmet meals and just sitting snugly under wraps and delving into heated discussions, easily filled our time. In fact, the week went past far too quickly. We all left enriched by unique memories, wishing that we could have stayed longer.
We had the pleasure of meeting our host for a brief chat though we almost felt as if we already knew him and his wife just on the basis of the spirit of their houses, choice of decor, attention to details, and the very helpful emails exchanged before our arrival.
Highest recommendation! A real treat though we greatly appreciated being on the island out of season when there were almost no tourists. Thank you so much Karen and Paul!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. It makes me so happy to hear that other families enjoy our Edgartown Compound as much as we do. We designed and built our home as a gathering place for our grown family and their families. In today's lifestyle with our children scattered across the country it is here, on the Island, that we all gather as one big multigenerational family. It gives us a place and time to make memories for our grandchildren with all their cousins and for us to reconnect with our now grown children. As you wrote, we too enjoy cooking together, eating long and lazy dinners, board games and exploring this amazing Island we are blessed to call home. It is here we so easily find all the simple things in life and learn to be grateful for so much. We designed the houses to allow for using what we needed, when we needed it and then to rent what was left over to help support the property and it seems to work out well for us and for our many repeat guests. Because it is our home, we have gone the full distance to make it a real home and not just a rental. From artwork to appointing the kitchen and living areas we have exceeded the typical "rental mentality" and I think this is something everyone appreciates. We hope you and your family will find a time to return and perhaps we will still make it to your amazing home in Italy. Thank you again for taking such good care of our home and please know you are always welcome back anytime any season.
