Sleeps 2 to 12 persons in comfort amidst scenic countryside. Also available in 2 parts for 2-6p. A former silk farm, this lovingly restored authentic Provencale farmhouse offers oodles of character (Terracotta floor tiles, exposed stone and beams, lime washed walls) as well as every comfort. Perfect location 1 mile village centre or just 10 mins. conservation village of Lourmarin, twixt Aix-en-Provence and Avignon. Nestled on a gentle hillside in a tiny hamlet on the edge of a village, in the very heart of the Luberon Park, amidst many reputed hilltop villages, daily Provencale markets, vineyards, lavender fields, orchards, olive groves and historic sites. Direct access from this characterful stone-built farmhouse by foot, bike or horse to the Luberon Park trails and walks and much more.

If you prefer to take just one wing as a self-contained 2-bedroomed unit for 2 to 6 persons with private garden, but shared pool, then this option is also available to you (see Les Muriers: the East Wing detailed separately for your information).

Availability: The farmhouse is typically Provencale in style and character with great, thick solid stone walls and a terracota tiled roof. It boasts many original features such as exposed beams and stone and antique, waxed terracotta tiles in parts. Thanks to its traditional construction, this Luberon farmhouse offers both a spacious, cool and airy home in the Summer and a warm, cosy, bright home in the winter. There are also mosquito nets and fans for your comfort during summer nights and mostly double-glazed windows for your comfort all year round. There is an impressive open log fireplace in the living room in the East Wing, ideally suited to winter lets. At certain periods we are also happy to offer alternative B and B accommodation.

Peaceful, comfortable and well-located

Comfortable and spacious gite with very pleasant and private pool area complete with very comfortable sun loungers to while away the day reading plus occasional bursts of energy on the table tennis table. Walks and runs straight out the back all with the wonderful scent of wild thyme, rosemary and pine. Bernard is a mine of local information and the drive around the Luberon that he recommended was a highlight. Great place to explore what is a truly wonderful area; Lourmarin (just up the road) is great for a leisurely lunch or dinner and has a great market. Cucuron is also stunning.

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful farmhouse

Beautifully restored farmhouse, very clean and well maintained. Andree is a very friendly and helpful owner, she gave us many good ideas on what to do/where to go. The location of the house is perfect - you are very close to Lourmarin and also Aix is not far away. But you also have the calm of a small provencale village (Merindol) where you can enjoy a quiet evening in a nice restaurant without too many people. Or you can go for a great walk in the Luberon - within a few steps you are in the middle of the nature.

Fantastic base to explore the area

The accommodation is well maintained, spacious and very Provencal. It sits in a small hamlet of houses , is surrounded by open countryside , and yet is close to routes far and wide. The pool area was great for relaxing and cooling off at the end of the days exploring the villages,towns, markets, beaches and swimming lakes close at hand. The owner, Andree is a fountain of local knowledge if you need ideas about good places to visit , restaurants or markets.I have no hesitation in recommending this property to families with either young children or teenagers.

Abstract : as my english is too poor to give an accurate description of it, I will just say : super, A+, yes I hope to come back, and yes I recommend the stay. Andrée, feel free to provide my email to anyone who would like to have my opinion.
Durée du séjour : 1 semaine (trop court !)
L'endroit : belle demeure en pierre. Fraîche en plein été sans clim, confortable et équipement complet, propreté impeccable et aucune mauvaise surprise. Jardin reposant et environnement calme pour une sieste à toute heure. La piscine nickel : un must au retour des ballades aux heures chaudes.
L'accueil : Andrée est souriante, sympathique, fourmille d'informations utiles pour les ballades et activités alentour, est restée très attentionnée à la moindre sollicitation.
L'emplacement : idéal pour rayonner et découvrir la région. on est à 20 mn de Lourmarin ou Cavaillon pour explorer le Luberon. Départ de nombreuses randos à proximité.
Nos coups de coeur : fin août c'était un peu tard pour les lavandes, mais on a pu quand même se faire plaisir à Sault (plus en altitude). Les gorges de la Nesque, impressionnantes. Marché provençal à L'Isle sur la Sorgue. Randos aux gorges de Regalon et autour de Gordes. Les points de vue depuis les abords de la forêt de cèdres à Bonnieux. Le plaisir d'enfant de jouer avec les sables d'ocre au "colorado provençal" à Rustrel. Et le coucher de soleil (et les glaaaces) à l'"Art Glacier" de Ansouis. Et comme on a surtout pris le temps de vivre au rythme provençal, on est loin d'avoir tout fait en une semaine, et on n'a plus qu'une idée en tête, c'est d'y revenir.

Wonderfull property, ideally located

We had a great family holiday (children 7-9yrs). The house and pool area were fantastic, clean and just as it appeared in the photographs on the web. Andree made us feel very welcome and only too pleased to share her in-depth knowledge of the area. The house was ideally situated with restaurants and shops within easy reach, as well as many of the top attraction of the area. Thanks Andree for a wonderful holiday!
