Gers is known for its sunflowers, great weather, gastronomy and armagnac. Throughout the summer there are many local fetes and major music festivals. The nearest village (3 km) is Beaucaire which has canoeing, shop and a bar. Castera Verduzan (8 km) is a thermal village with large supervised lake with sandy beach, water slides, etc. It also has a spa centre, casino and trap race meetings are held here. Valence Sur Baise (5 km) also offers fishing, local restaurants - 4 courses and wine for 11 euros - very popular . Throughout the summer there are many daytime and evening markets in the surrounding area. Vic Fezensac and Condom are the nearest small towns with all usual facilities, including Armagnac producers and boat hire. Auch (28 km) is the historic and vibrant capital of the area offering many facilities.
Further afield Toulouse, Bordeaux and the Pyrenees can be reached in under one to two hours. Toulouse and Bordeaux offer great shopping and many attractions.
