a relaxing family holiday

We were 2 families totalling 9, . There was plenty of room for everybody not to be on top of each other. The Kitchen had every type of utensil that you could require with 2 fridges being a bonus, as we had one for food and one for Wine, of course. There was a good and varied supply of reading material, with plenty of games, dvd and playstation games for the children. The table tennis kept everyone busy and we battled to see who was going to be the overall winner. The TV was good for catching up with weather and news. Outside the pool was a welcome in the summer sun. There was plenty of land to explore with a swing for younger children if you have any, Although the swing in the barn was more for us adults. It was a pleasure to sit outside under the barn roof and watch the morning sun rise and stare out of the picture window over the rolling fields and listen to the birds. In the evenings we would use the BBQ and watch the stars come out.The local village was only a mile away, or a 20 minute walk, if you don't mind walking by the road side as there is no pavements, where a small shop provided basic food, bread and english papers.
Whilst we were there the caretaker, who has lived in france for the past 20 years, did come round and clean the pool and cut the grass. He was helpful with regard to local info.
A lovely property to totally relax and enjoy the countryside, but still only a 30 minute drive to large towns. Nearby is horseriding and canoeing in St Foy de Grande, and as well as daily markets in various villages nearby. We would recommend a visit to Duras chateau.
Would certainly recommend this property for relaxing, if your looking for nightlife you have to make your own entertainment but with no neighbours nearby we didn't worry about the music.
