Two Luxury Apartments within private gated Villa - close Beach, Tropea & Pizzo

Villa Bergamotto has been designed so that it can be rented as a whole for large families and friends, or rented individually as two separate apartments.

Villa Bergamotto has assessable parking, ideally located close to sandy beaches, restaurants and bars. Positioned centrally between the magnificent medievil towns of Tropea and Pizzo.

Recently renovated to a high specification including natural travertine marble floors and bathroom walls.

The ground floor apartment sleeps 2-8 and has a large pergola with a covered veranda, whilst the first floor sleeps 2-6 with a 40m2 sun terrace overlooking panoramic views of the sea and rolling hills all perfect for ‘al fresco’ dining.

Entry to both apartments is through a gated driveway, the villa is totally independent and has a walled garden.

On arrival you will be greeted by our lovely bi-lingual housekeeper, she will introduce you to your apartment and is available to contact during your stay for any questions you may have

Ground Floor Apartment:

The Ground Floor apartment is ideal for two couples or two families as it has two spacious double bedrooms, a large open plan lounge with large comfortable double sofa beds, a large travertine marble tiled bathroom and modern fitted kitchen with breakfast island and stools, a large pergola and a covered veranda with quality dining seating and sun loungers.

This apartment is approximately 120m2. The entrance is through double French doors from the veranda to the large open plan contemporary kitchen with dining area, the lounge area has two large comfortable sofas which can convert to double beds. Bose iPod sound station. Doors to two spacious bedrooms and luxury bathroom with separate shower, bath, bidet and WC, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. Door to utility room with washing machine, iron and ironing board etc.

All bedrooms are furnished with simplicity and taste with the finest quality Egyptian cotton sheets with silk filled throws.

The garden area has a granite stone driveway with young fruit trees, and potted plants.

First Floor Apartment:

This apartment has panoramic views from both terrace and balcony. Entrance door from stairs and balcony to hallway.

Villa Bergamotto is nestled in an elevated position overlooking the crystal waters of the bay and rolling hills, scattered with small olive groves and roaming goats, you truly can enjoy a bygone age of nature with a beach holiday. The villa is ideally positioned between two magnificent medieval towns of Pizzo and Tropea; both towns are only 10 min drive away.

Briatico:

Is a friendly small market town; it has numerous family run shops offering fresh local produce including restaurants and bars. The nearest beach is less than 1 km away from the villa and benefits from having quality beach side restaurants offering fresh home cooked cuisine with views over the bay they are open all year round. The beach has a raft of activities including scuba diving, snorkelling, pedalo, boat, and sun bed hire. Part of the beach has a very safe naturally shallow children’s bathing area.

Tropea:

A large lively historical town blessed with old magnificent buildings, narrow cobbled streets filled with bars, ‘al fresco’ restaurants and individual shops open until the late evening. A must do whilst in Tropea is to visit one many cliff top viewing areas where you can look out over the sea and admire the famous convent of Santa Maria Dell'Isola.

Pizzo:

Blessed with medieval origins; this little fishing town is quite stunning when you wander through its narrow streets full of ancient houses looking out over the wonderful sea views. Pizzo is also the home of Tartufo ice cream there are numerous al fresco Gelaterias serving locally produced Tartufo, it’s one of Italy’s most famous ice creams and a real delicacy, definitely a must before leaving.

Luxurious, clean, spacious. As promised.

We had a wonderful time in your house.
For 3 people is it a really spacious apartment down stairs. The apartment is utilized for 6, but there are sleeping places for 8. The kitchen is well utilized. If you will maintain the house correctly and keep it in the state as it is, then you are assured of many renters.
The 3 G WIFI connection could be better. Many beach chairs are available, but some of them are at the end of a lifetime.
A advice from my side, exchange the dish brush more often.
Thanks for the detailed information about the house and surroundings, it was really helpful. The house was like promised at HomeAway/Holiday Rentals. Why not 5 stars, because I missed the view to the scenery.
Summary of our holiday:
We visited the shopping malls (because the bad weather) Vibo Center at Vibo Valentia (many shops are closed or not present anymore, but we did the shopping at the SPAR) and Due Mari at Lamezia Terme (many shops but a lot of the same and enough restaurants including a McD).
We went several times to Tropea and once Pizzo.
Briatico is good for much needed groceries, but the town cannot impress me. The fish shop next to Conad was closed. The little fishers harbor, old castle tower and beach are well worth seeing.
Tropea is very nice especially for dinner and ice cream. You can also enjoy wandering through the narrow alleys with old buildings.
Pizzo is lovely but only for a few hours. I have eaten a Tartufo ice cream at the ice cream shop recommended by you Bar Gelateria Ercole. It was Amazing delicious.
Also we went to several beaches, Grotticelle at Capo Vaticano, Michelino at Parghelia (remote and a lot of stairs but beautiful), Prosperpina at Vibo Marina (very suited for small children, shallow and fine white sand), Punta Safo (just before the rain started) and Riaci Beach (very nice) near to Tropea. Also we spend a short time at the small beach down the old castle at Pizzo.
We loved the deserted beaches. It felt like the beach was ours alone.
We visited 3 different restaurants, the one you recommended at Briatico, La Perla di Golfo (3 times, food was good, not romantic inside, friendly staff). And 3 times in Tropea (2 times at Il Cantastorie with friendly staff/very good food and 1 time at Don Rocco - average).

With regards to the sea view - we did tell you that the ground floor apartment does not have the panoramic view that you get from the first floor terrace, and as the first floor was already booked it was not possible on this occasion but hopefully if you return, we can offer you the first floor apartment next time.

A beautiful week in sunny October

The apartment was perfect for our short half-term stay in Calabria. The apartment is bright and airy, with plenty of windows and a lovely open plan kitchen and huge living room. The bathroom is very large too, more than big enough for 2 couples.
We started most mornings on the outside pergola for a cup of coffee and whatever local delicacies that we picked up from the local shop in the village. Some of the most stunning and clean beaches are a mere 10 minute drive away from the apartment, some of which come complete with little bars and restaurants – which we were surprised to see still open and rather busy in the last week of October! The climate at this time allowed us to enjoy lunch outside or on the beach most days, and we even went for a swim on a couple of the days.
There’s a huge array of genuine Italian restaurants, from fresh fish on the beach, to pizzerias and fine dining (a lot cheaper than London.. Around 6-10 Euro for food and drink per person!) in nearby villages Tropea, Vibo marina and Pizzo. We even found an amazing meat restaurant in Vibo city, which had a butchers inside – for freshly grilled steaks and pancetta. The hosts had left a guide book in the apartment, which may help you decide where to go – or you can just explore in the car yourself!
All in all, a fantastic week of relaxation and exploration in this rustic and authentic part of southern Italy. We'll definitely be returning to Villa Bergamotto for our next stay!

Eine Wunderschöne Wohnung

Wir wahren 14Tage in der Villa Bergamotto. Es wahren 14 wunderschönen Tage.
Die Villa ist perfekt die ist genau in der Mitte zwischen Vibbo Valentia und Tropea.
Die Ausrüstung der Villa hat alles, und es ist genau so wie die Bildern.
Aber für eine kleine Nachteil hat es, aber das können Sie ändern.
Internet Anschluss oder W-lain hat einen Schnecken Tempo.
Und der Grill ist nicht mehr der Neusten. Diese zwei punkte wurde ich so schnell wie möglich ändern.
Ich werde die Villa Bergamotto an jeden weiter empfehlen.

In Bezug auf die Geschwindigkeit der WiFi, haben wir nicht zum Download geeignet gewesen mit einem 3G-Router in jeder Wohnung, die für E-Mails und Web-Browsing gut funktioniert hat, aber. Hoffentlich wird dies durch die nächste Saison gelöst werden, wenn wir hoffen, dass wir Hochgeschwindigkeits -Breitband vollständig installiert.

A Fabulous Apartment

Where to start really! A fabulous apartment with everything you could wish for - even down to beach equipment - snorkels etc. A great little oasis for relaxing with fab terraces and garden.

Nigel and Amanda have done a great job in making the villa a real home from home and were more than happy to answer any questions before we booked. A lovely surprise to actually meet them on our arrival along with the lovely Amelia (housekeeper) who is a little gem!

Beautifully decorated throughout the Ground Floor apartment is great for those with limited mobility (like me). One small step up to bedrooms and bathroom, great shower with easy access.

The coastline is just beautiful with lovely beaches and clear blue seas and everything is within easy distance. Tropea was a favourite with us (day and night) great shops and restaurants with a lovely atmosphere.

One of our lasting memories will be of the local people, so kind and helpful. As a wheelchair user I could not fault them, nothing was too much trouble.

One of the best holidays my family and I have enjoyed. Thank you Nigel and Amanda. Highly recommend you visit!

Five days of Bliss!

Having just returned from five perfect days at Villa Bergamotto I feel compelled to extoll the virtues of this idyllic place. The villa itself is truly a home from home with ones every comfort catered for. Spacious bedrooms, sumptuous living areas designed for complete relaxation and luxuriously appointed bathrooms perfect for washing the sand from between ones toes after a long lazy afternoon on the beach!. The villa itself is in an exceptional position with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside to the azure waters of the tyrrhenian sea. The beaches are wild, uncrowded and ripe for exploring and the regions historic towns have retained their rustic charm and beg the traveller to investigate further. What more can I say. We had long leisurely lunches sometimes gathering wood and having an impromptu beach bar-be-que, dined like kings on fresh local produce in delightful family run restaurants and always finished our day with a stroll and probably a cone of the best ice cream in the world. Like General McArthur I will return!

(Direct flights from Ryanair to London Stansted, Stockholm, Dusseldorf, Barcelona, Brussels, Bologna, Milan, Pisa and Tripani. Also flights direct from Gatwick April to October via Monarch Airlines.
