2 BED DETACHED VILLA WITH POOL. CLOSE TO BEACH

Ostuni Villa Rental Photos and Description

Fantastic value for money villa with large above ground pool (5m x 5m)

Location – set in rolling Puglian hills, surrounded by ancient olive groves, this relaxing detached country villa with large private above ground pool (5m x 5m), has it all.

This villa was renovated in 2009 and is just a 5 minutes drive to Ostuni, 10 minutes drive to the beach and only 30 minutes from Brindisi Airport.

Ostuni, known as the 'Citta Bianca' (White City), Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica and Martina Franca (four of Italy's most beautiful towns) are all less than 10 minutes away.

The villa has a very large lounge/dining room, with double doors opening onto the patio terrace and a 12 ft high ceiling to keep you cool in summer.

The pool can be used from mid May to September and there is a large patio terrace with an arched tiled roof to protect you from the sun.

Set in half an acre of grounds with a small vineyard and fruit trees, this villa offers fantastic value for money and has lots of charming features, to make your stay enjoyable.

The villa is just 5 minutes drive to the beautiful 'Citta Bianca' (White City) of Ostuni with its historic old town.

Throughout the year there are numerous festivals and fireworks displays. La Cavalcata, in Ostuni is an amazing horse parade that follows the procession of Saint Oronzo, the patron saint/protector of the city of Ostuni- this is towards the end of August.

The coastline is approx. 10 mins drive away and whether driving south or north there is access to the coastline and beaches to cater for all, from rocky secluded coves to sandy, and from quiet to busy. Torre Guaceta is a nearby stretch of coastline officially recognised as a nature reserve and is very beautiful.

For families there is a Zoo Safari combined with funfair and shows at Fasano, ten pin bowling/amusement park near Ostuni and in Monopoli there is a children's indoor play centre.

Ostuni is a truly stunning medieval hill-top white city, offering some of the best cuisine in Italy. It is a very vibrant city with a huge weekly market and the friendliest locals in all of Italy. Even during peak season, it remains very Italian and unspoilt. This is the place where the Italians themselves like to take their holidays.

Must sees

The Centro Storico (Old Town) of Ostuni is a fascinating place where you can just walk and walk. Every corner you turn holds another breathtaking view. It is simply stunning. A wonderful historic church stands next to the town hall in the main Piazza, and the ancient Cathedral at the very top of the hill is absolutely amazing. It is well worth the walk to the top of the old town to see this along with the ancient architecture and breathtaking views of the nearby Ionian coastline.

The following towns are all a short drive from Ostuni, and also well worth a visit :-

Martina Franca- The road to Martina is a lovely drive – full of Trulli and Masserie. Martina itself is a Baroque jewel -extremely elegant and historic.

Cisternino / Ceglie Mesapica – these are pretty towns with lots of character, with ancient defensive forts on the hills and well-kept old-town areas.

Alberobello – Listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site, is a must see while you are in Puglia, which is famed for its enchanting Trulli houses. Alberobello is truly the home of the trulli. It is a good idea to combine a visit to Alberobello with a trip to the fascinating Castellano caves nearby.

Lecce is about a 45 min drive away and known as the Florence of the South - you will see why. Lecce has amazing ancient Baroque architecture and a quaint old town

Ryanair fly into both Brindisi airport (30 min drive from the villa) and Bari Airport (approx. 1 h drive from the villa).

From the end of June 2012 Easyjet will also fly from Gatwick into Bari.

'La Citta Bianca' The White City...amazing!

'La Citta Bianca' The White City...amazing!
  • 5 of 5
A most wonderful holiday spent in the Olive Groves of Puglia.

'La Citta Bianca' (The White City) what a delightful place to spend our holiday and only 15 minutes drive away from the magnificent beaches. Such a wonderful place and full of historic ventures within the small white cobbled streets of the Old Town with magnificent views of the Ocean. Delicious food in the many restaurants and coffee bars also an abundance of fresh fruit and veg of the season and offers on the typical Italian markets! Our accommodation was perfect. What a lovely clean and fresh villa, well equipped with everything we could ask for and perfect to return home to sit around the welcoming pool and take in the ambience of the beautiful countryside. The villa was very peaceful and private in the countryside of Ostuni and with the town only 5 minutes drive away just added to our way of relaxing in the evenings; taking in the rolling hills, greenery and the growing produce of the locals. The immediate neighbours were extremely hospitable but not intrusive and far enough away for our privacy. Great information for trips and places of historical interest were left in the villa by Julie, so everything we needed without the hassle of driving to tourist information places. We will most certainly visit the Villa and Puglia again. I would most certainly recommend Julies Villa for a perfect holiday in Ostuni.

A peaceful week near Ostuni

  • 3 of 5
We spent a relaxed week at Julie's villa near Ostuni. The villa is set in peaceful surroundings, away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Ostuni. Location is one of its key assets. It's ideally placed for visiting all the key tourist sites in the region, 10 minutes' drive from Ostuni itself and only around 30 minutes from the airport at Brindisi. The coast is also within easy reach. A car is essential, though, as there are no shops or facilities within walking distance. However, there are more than enough shops and restaurants in Ostuni.

The villa itself is very much as described on the website. It has just about everything necessary for a holiday let without being lavishly equipped. We experienced a couple of problems during our stay but these were sorted out very quickly by the couple who clean and maintain the property. They provided useful advice about the region, too, so they were an asset.

We found the main bed rather small, but got round this by moving to the second bedroom.

The pool provided welcome and refreshing relief during a very warm week. It is exactly as depicted on the website, so it's more of a splash pool, but we used it virtually every day and were glad to have it.

In summary, comparing it to other properties in the area, Julie's villa offers good value for money and provides a peaceful base for exploring this attractive part of Italy.

Owner's Response: I am pleased that you had an enjoyable holiday at my villa. The double bed is being replaced with a larger one! The location is peaceful and relaxing as you suggest and the couple that look after the property are always happy to help with advice etcetera.

I am very glad that you feel that you had good value for your money.
