Our location near the Devon/Cornwall border means that the high-cliffed North Cornish coastline, gentler South Devon coast, Eden Project and many other great destinations are all less than an hour's drive away.
Horse Riding
There is a range of good size stables and grazing for those wishing to bring their horses with them. Feed and bedding is available by prior arrangement and a secure tack room is provided for safe storage of kit. There is ample parking for lorries and trailers. Next door to the stable is our 40 x 20 sand school for your use.
The location provides instant access to a wide range of excellent riding for riders of all abilities. The house is 100 yards from the open moor, and the local roads, forests and commons provide many miles of hacking opportunities. Maps can be provided on arrival.
There are a number of local inns that are all very friendly to the passing horse and rider requiring refreshments. If you would like to grab a bite to eat in the saddle, packed lunches are provided on request.
For those wanting a complete break it is possible to arrange full livery (please provide as much notice as possible). We also provide DIY livery for those wishing to base their horse here for a longer period, plus use of the sand school on an hourly basis.
We are able to arrange group and private lessons for all ages and abilities with our BHSAU-accredited, this includes flatwork and jumping.
Cycling
There are a number of well-maintained bikes available for hire. Weekly rates are £30 for adults and ??21 for children.
The Granite Way section runs adjacent to the House and we are blessed with our own private gated access. Cyclists and walkers will often use us as a watering hole where they can sit above the trail and watch others ride through the old railway-cutting.
