Villa Florines is set back and on higher ground and shows its narrowest side to the road and is further insulated by the double-paned windows inside. The villa's clever positioning and landscaping give it a feeling of secluded charm. The house was built in the 18th century and recently completely renovated. It is furnished with marvellous pieces of classic Italian antiques, the kitchen and bathroom show that unique modern Italian design.
The lush surroundings serve also as a shield from the active road, a lakeside fact of life. The main entrance is located 15 external stone steps from the gate and two car garage. Because of the central location of the villa, there is some road noise that you can hear from the villa. Ground floor features hall, living room with fireplace, one half bath, large modern kitchen with fireplace separated by an arch from the dining area. Separate laundry room with washer and dryer.
Nestled within the ground behind the villa is a lovely new cottage with a liv
Lombardy area: The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.
Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries.
It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations.
All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself.
Lenno is a small pleasant town in a good location and only 10 minutes southwest of Menaggio, from where you can take the car ferry over to Bellagio & Varenna. The town of Lenno dates back to Roman times. The Baptistery in the village square is from the eleventh century and the crypt of the church dates from the twelfth century.
For exploring Lake Como the peaceful little town of Lenno is an excellent choice as, having its own ferry point, it makes getting around by boat an easy and pleasurable experience. It is situated between the probably better known lakeside towns of Moltrasio and Tremezzo.
Lenno has a Tuesday market stretching along the promenade which sells a wide range of products including fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, cheeses and meats, clothes, shoes and many more. Close by are some good shops and restaurants with everything you need to enjoy your stay, there is also a beach (which is stoney but popular with holiday makers and locals)

Thankyou for a wonderful time in Villa Flora. We loved the house, the garden, the location and wre extremely comfortable. Our daughter's wedding at Villa Carlotta was on the Tuesday , the hottest day of our stay which made it all perfect.
We do hope we left the Villa as we found it. We didn't use the dishwasher at ,so didn't empty anything that may have been in there.
Again... thankyou to all concerned.
The romantic getaway is located in Lenno, a picturesque village in the centre on the northwest side of Lake Como, situated in a sheltered bay with a charming boulevard, away from the traffic. It has some good restaurants, a beach and you will never get tired of the beautiful scenery.
Lenno has a history dating back to the Romans. Pliny had a villa on the shore of the lake. The Baptistery in the village square is of the eleventh century. The crypt of the church dates from the twelfth century. The boat which tours the lake stops in Lenno. A short ride brings you to Bellagio. Lenno is situated between Como and Menaggio.
Menaggio at 6 km is a lovely charming village with narrow streets, shops, restaurants, and beautiful boulevard for a leisurely stroll in the evening. The golf course, 18 holes, is the oldest in Italy, founded in 1912 and is situated on a high plateau from where a spectacular view.
Other Activities: Float Plane/Helicopter - Canoeing/Kayaking - Funicular Railway
Golf: There are Golf clubs around Lake Como: The Cadenabbia & Menaggio Golf Club and is Italy's oldest golf course. Established in 1907 with 18 holes Par 70, it is located above Menaggio near Croce, in Grandola ed Uniti, approx. 20 min. by car. Green Fees: Weekdays €55, Weekends and Holidays €70 Euro; Golf Cart Rental €36.
Restaurant Golf at the club serves fantastic food and is well recommended.. Guests are always welcome, please call beforehand to check course rules. Golf Club Menaggio: (Menaggio Como).
Ski: This beautiful lake region of Italy is not the best for skiing as you may imagine, despite its scenery, crisp air and near perfect visibility and mountains capped in winter snow. It does however have Skiing opportunities at local resorts for a day out.
There is a small ski area on Mt. Lema, not more than 10 km from Lugano, but you have to be lucky to have enough snow for skiing. In Ticino, the local Swiss Canton, the best places to ski are probably either San Bernardino (south of the pass of the same name) or Airolo (south of Gotthard pass). Both are reachable in about 1 hour by car across the Swiss border.
There are direct trains to Airolo as well from Lugano and hence from Italian Stations. To S. Bernardino there is only a bus connection. For more snow try Andermatt (on the north side of Gotthard pass) which has normally good snow conditions and a good choice of runs.
The closest major ski resorts are St. Moritz and Madesimo toward the Splugen Pass which is approx. 100K
