Wester Caputh House is in the peaceful village of Caputh, 4 miles east of Dunkeld on the River Tay. The nearby historic cathedral town of Dunkeld is delightful. The surrounding countryside is spectacular and the house is extremely well positioned to explore Perthshire and all its treasures - The Birks of Aberfeldy, The Hermitage, Loch of The Lowes and its famous Ospreys, Blair Castle, many whisky distilleries and Pitlochry with its own small theatre. There are marvellous walking routes - anything from an easy stroll on the River Tay or Caputh Hill or The Cairngorms (an hour away) or many Munroes - Ben Lawyers & Schehallion for something more extreme! Perthshire is known as the 'Big Tree Country' and there are many old, large characterful trees in the area. There is also excellent mountain-biking close-by, many of it 'single track'. There is of course the opportunity to fish the River Tay for salmon & trout and there is also loch fishing locally.
Other Activities: white watering rafting, canoeing, 4x4 off-road, quad biking, bird watching
