Situated in the heart of Impressionist Normandy, Le Studio du Peintre is less than 2km from Honfleur, a small picturesque port, home of Eric Satie and Eugène Boudin and a well known destination for the impressionist painters. Set in the romantic Normandy countryside, the studio offers the advantage of being very accessible to the coast (less than 10 min) and the main travel routes whilst avoiding the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. Attached to a small timbered cottage, the Studio has its own private patio area surrounded by a charming walled garden and faces peaceful green fields and woodlands, providing hours of quiet summer holiday walks. Perfect for nature lovers and so close to Honfleur! The Studio has been totally renovated to provide a luminous, peaceful and comfortable space for its visitors. Although the studio has a kitchenette, it is possible to have a “chambre d’hôte” option with delicious fresh baguette and croissants and homemade jam. Ideal for young couple.

Well known for it’ outstanding beauty, the historical port of Honfleur has always attracted artistes and writers. It is world renowned for being one of the favourite locations for Impressionist painters: Monet, Jongkind, Boudin, Alexandre Dubourg and Corot to name a few. Honfleur also offers day trips out to sea or along the banks of the Seine. Less than 2 hours from Paris and 15min. from the famous Deauville horse races it is also nears the DD day beaches. August is Jazz festival time. For those who prefer the country side, the Studio du Peintre is situated on one of the many foot paths to be found in this sought after area of Normandy. With rolling hills that go down to the sea the area offers a wealth of unspoilt countryside for the nature lover: Bird sanctuaries, marsh lands, wild Rhododendrons and wild orchids included! Honfleur is also with in reach of the Mt.St. Michel and Giverny. There is also a possibility of private painting courses at the Studio. Ask for details.

Our eight days stay in the Studio du Peintre were fantastic.The owner,Muriel,could not have been more friendly or helpful. The property was clean and well equipped and the garden was an added bonus.We enjoyed many enjoyable lunches there.
The position of the studio was ideal.Near enough to Honfleur yet surrounded by trees and beautiful scenery and we enjoyed many long walks.We would definitly like to return soon for a further holiday and would recommend the property to all our friends.

Charming retreat in Normandy

We really enjoyed our stay in this charming studio apartment, the facilities and the layout works really well for 2 people. The studio very clean and well maintained, the studio was very comfortable. Muriel was very friendly and a lovely host.

We would highly recommend this lovely part of Normandy and especially the studio. There are many restaurants in Honfleur and can recommend Au P'tit Mareyeur, as ever we did love all the fresh produce in the markets which means you can sample all the delights by cooking for yourself.

Charmant accueil de Muriel.
La maison est très bien située, proche de Honfleur mais suffisamment en retrait pour profiter du calme.
Nous avons passé un très agréable et reposant week-end mes deux enfants et moi.
Pouvoir se préparer un repas le soir au studio, y prendre notre petit déjeuner tranquillement est très appréciable.
Nous sommes venus en février, et le froid ne nous a pas permis de prendre le petit déjeuner dehors, dommage car le ç'eût été la cerise sur le gâteau!
De plus, Muriel est une artiste et peint de jolies toiles.

flat in honfleur

although small, the flat is perfect for a visit to Honfleur. it is not quiet walking distance but a short drive to the main part of town. Honfleur is a very pretty part of the world.Only negative would be, don't look forward to a bbq because the bbq is not very practical.

Sorry you didn't find the barbaque "practical". I have since used it myself and have changed the grill which was not working as it should, so next time you'll be able to look forward to some "grillades" with fresh rosemary!

A Perfect Hideaway !! (and easily reached ...!!)

We wanted somewhere quiet, relaxing, away from it all, but not too far away - and found it here !! A charming host, a lovely studio, spotlessly clean, well equipped, and a huge shower room ! Easy 20 min walk into Honfleur - and some lovely walks direct from the studio door - would highly recommend, John & Joy, Nottingham UK
