The Sawmills is an ideal base for walkers as there are several exceptional coast and country side walks that can be joined right from the doorstep of the Sawmills. Longer or short term boat hire is available in Fowey, making it quick and easy to nip in and out of the town from the Sawmills. River trips, cruises and fishing outings, can all be arranged from Fowey, as well as Canoe and Kayak expeditions. Fowey has a wealth of Restaurants, bistros, tearooms and pubs, all offering food. Superb beaches and coves in the vicinity. Plenty of Fascinating Historic country houses including the splendid Lanhydrock. Many gardens to visit, particularly the magnificent Lost Gardens of Heligan and the world famous Eden project, which also hosts The Eden Sessions, a series of one day music festivals. Bike hire, golf and surfing are all within easy reach.
