Quinta do Bento Novo is located in the North of Portugal, near the Atlantic coast. The house has a capacity of 12+ people, with 6 double rooms, several spacious living rooms, a large kitchen that is fully equipped and can easily accommodate 12 people. The centennial house has been recently remodeled, so you will be able to enjoy the beautiful characteristic architecture and also feel the comfort of modern houses (central heating, spacious bedrooms, all with private bathroom, modern equipments). You will also enjoy the 4000 square meters of lands and beautiful gardens: you will be amazed by the enormous variety of plants, trees and flowers of the gardens, and take pleasure of the surrounding mountains and the stream that flows at the end of the property. The house is located in the small village of Perre, only 7 km away from Viana do Castelo, one of the most beautiful cities of Portugal, with a lot of history and culture to offer. The high quality Atlantic beaches are only 8 km away.

The nearest beach is only 8 km away, and it is well known for its beauty, its health benefits and natural pools. The Atlantic coast has a wide range of beaches to offer, including a lot of water sport activities. In the surrounding mountains you will be able to enjoy beautiful hiking routes, delight with landscapes, visit historic mills and chapels or refresh in clear streams. At only 20 km of historic village Ponte de Lima, less than one hour distance of Porto through IC1/A28, at about one hour distance of Braga or Vigo (in Spain) through A3, Quinta do Bento Novo is a very advantageous location to visit several destinations.   • All the bed rooms are very spacious and with plenty natural light. They are fully equipped with all-wood characteristic furniture: double bed, nightstands, dresser, mirror, chairs or armchairs lamps and wardrobe. There is the possibility to include extra beds. All of the bedrooms have private bathrooms. There are 6 bedrooms: 3 on the top floor, with beautiful wood floors, 2 on the down floor with direct access to the gardens, and the suite, located in an independent building that is right next to the main house. The suite has a very spacious bedroom and a bathroom with a very large bathtub and also a private living room with sofas, TV, and a small library.

The Farm: Originally built in 1892, Bento Novo was recently renovated to more comfortably accommodate our guests, but the beautiful characteristics of its buildings have been preserved. The contrast of schist and granite that can be found throughout the property emphasizes the harmony that exists between what nature has provided and man has embellished. Bento Novo’s relaxing quiet atmosphere almost makes you forget how close you are to all the action that is happening in the surrounding area. C’est l’endroit parfait pour passer des beaux jours de repos, en profitant de la tranquillité de la campagne et de l’atmosphère unique du Nord du Portugal. La maison est très belle et pittoresque (les jardins sont magnifiques) et l'accueil était parfait.

Avec une localisation très favorable : Au cœur de la campagne, et proche de la belle ville de Viana do Castelo, j’y recommande un séjour à tous qui aiment être bien accueilli et qui aiment la tradition. C’est le choix idéal pour connaître le nord du Portugal (il ne faut surtout pas rater la gastronomie de la région).

An Ideal Location

We had a group of 10 adults who used Bento Novo as their base for a week of history, food and wine exploring in Northern Portugal. It could not have been a better location. The house is excellent! The location is close to interesting towns as well as auto routes if you wish to venture a bit further. And then there are the wonderful grounds! Each day our group could simply wander a bit after a day of touring and before we began to prepare dinner. A very relaxing place to stay!

Since we knew we would get going early each morning we elected to have breakfast provided for us. Excellent decision.

Elisabeta and Paulo were great help in providing some directions and ideas on directions and place to try.

We look forward to visiting again.

Bento Novo House it is an amazing place to stay, ideal for families. They have really fantastic gardens, a stone tank with running water perfect for children to have bath, a huge kitchen where guests can prepare their meals, barbecues, free wireless internet, you must try it.
Besides all that, the owner are very nice, it is close to the beaches, and there are a lot of restaurants and places to visit nearby.
We really enjoyed our vacations there!
