I recently spent a month at this apartment and felt very comfortable and safe there. It is tastefully decorated with antiques, art and collectibles and has a warm feeling. It is also quiet.
Trastevere is a vibrant and authentic neighborhood with treasures of its own to explore (Janiculum Hill, Santa Cecilia, Santa Maria in Trastevere, etc.) and many restaurants (I especially enjoyed Le Mani in Pasta for lunch and dinner), small specialty food stores (Rumi for salads, soups, sandwiches; Innocenti for biscotti), and cooking class (Cooking with Andrea is a lot of fun while you’re learning about traditional Roman food).
As other reviewers have mentioned, the apartment is within walking distance of many of Rome’s other wonderful sites and attractions and Giulio is a warm and welcoming host who will make you feel at home.
I rented the apartment to spend the end of 2013 in Rome with 2 friends and it was the best decision I made during the journey. The apartment is full equipped, the pictures match with the flat, and the neighbourhood is amazing. It's well situated, only 20 min walk to the main highlights of Rome, included the Vatican City. But you can also use the Tram8 to Piazza Venezia. Close to the apartment you'll find many bars and restaurants and also 2 little supermarkets if you prefer to do it cheeper cooking at home.
I booked just 2 days before arriving, in christmas time, so when everything usually goes slow, but Mr Giulio (the owner) made it very easy and we could do everything with a couple of phone call and mails.
Then he was available every time we need him. When we arrived at different times, when we had to solve some little problem, even when we ask him to add a 4th friend at the middle of the journey.
The only thing I disliked of this journey was leaving Rome... A wonderful city where you'll never have enough time.
I actually rented the apartment for 4 days and 3 nights in June, 2012. I could not have been happier with the place. The owner was right there to greet us and it was amazing. Great location and good area. Cannot wait to return one day.
After several trips to Rome in which we stayed in Hotels for three nights we decided to try an apartment in Rome for a week. Well, that was one of our best decisions ever. And selecting this apartment made it a pleasure to "When in Rome, Do as Romans do."
The apartment had even more charm than we could have guessed from the photos. Elegantly furnished and in a great building. Perfect location for dining in Trastevere's many fine restaurants. Easy access to public transportation, but Rome is made for walkers and from the apt you can easily walk to Piazza Navona, the Jewish Ghetto, and other sites.
The owner was extremely helpful, arranging a ride to the airport on our departure that made dealing with air travel less challenging.
We (my wife and I) plan to live like Romans again very soon.
Me and my boyfriend, we are just back from our holidays in Rome !
It is a verry beautiful city with something grate to see every 100 meters of the city ! amazing ! The appartment of Giulio is very well placed in a charming Trastevere district ! During the day it is a calm place with many restaurants around, with flowers and small paived streets. the appartment is placed just next to the market, where you can buy fresh cheese and vegetables in the morning, you dont hear the noice from the appartment because the windows are on the yard side, so it is always very calm. you have also 2 cheap shops on the same street. In the evening Trastevere becomes a crowded place, everyone is outside, eating on the terass, having a party around the numerous bars and squares ! it is just an amazing district to stay in Rome !!!
The appartment of Giulio is very nice, you have everything you need ! it has very fast internet ! it has many paintings inside and you feel like living in a real italian house ! Giulio left us all the basic stuff what you can need for cooking or making a coffee or tea during your stay, which is highly appreciated !
the only disadvantages for us was the lack of light and the temperature of the water in the shower a bit difficult to regulate ... but it is really nothing compared to the value of this place !
Thank you very much Giulio for your kindness ! We have really enjoyed our stay !

The apartment is located in the historic center of Rome, in the heart of Trastevere
the most characteristic Rione of Rome, famous for its many restaurants, cafes, pubs and boutiques.
Full of attractions, history and entertainment, different in every hour of the day, from the lively outdoor market
San Cosimato which brings together old and new residents to the lively nightlife, but always as a sign of cordiality and friendliness that keep alive the tradition of hospitality Roman.
For the strategic location of the apartment,
you can easily walk all the places of tourist interest in the city.
The apartment and the whole area and is obviously well connected by public transport (trams, buses, shuttles and tour buses) for the Vatican, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, the Temple Vesta and the Mouth of Truth, the Colosseum and the archaeological site of the Palatine
