Gjeving is the mainland 'Sister' of the more famous and incredibly charming Lyngør. Lyngør has once been awarded 'The Best preserved Community' in Europe. The four islands of Lyngør, with their white houses, are only to be visited by boat. Most of the houses are built in the age of the tall ships, more than 100 years ago.
Lyngør belongs to the municipality of Tvedestrand, in Aust-Agder county.
The area is well known for its history and nature, and the beautiful islands surrounding it.
Gjeving is also a nice, old community, and many of the newer houses here are built in the old fashioned style, typical for the area and the south coast of Norway.
There is a 18 hole golf court only 20 min drive from Gjeving, and there is a diving school on the harbour.
You can rent boats on the marina, or go for nice walks in the neighbourhood.
We are close to Risør, Kragerø and Tvedestrand, three of the famous southern towns of Norway. These are very popular places for spending 'Our Summertime'
