We had a very comfortable and enjoyable week staying at Marlowe Cottage, even the weather was good!
The cottage is very well equiped with everything we required for a week away. We were made to feel at home staright away with cakes and a hamper on arrival. The WiFi was very useful as there, especially with 3 teenage boys!
The village of Caldbeck is attractive, with several small cafes and craft shops. It also has a village pub that serves good pub grub and Jennings beer.
Within walking distance (1.5miles) is the neighbouring village of Hesket Newmarket that has an excellent pub "The Crown" where we sample good beer and pub grub again, we found that we had to book a table for food at the Crown.
Caldbeck is on the edge of the Lake District, but there were excellent walks from the doorstep, or a short car journey away. Keswick, Carlisle and Penrith are in easy reach.
We had a very enjoyable family holiday here.
