NEW at DAR MELKA ! Preparation of argan oil. Guests can attend -and participate- to their own argan oil making. A lady will do the entire operation from fruits, roasting almonds and grinding to the finished oil.
Near the villa, you can walk around the village or the the vineyard « Val d’Argan’ for wine tasting.
On Sundays, souk at 'Had-Drâa', kind of local flea market at a walking distance.
The medina, formerly known under the name of Mogador and registered on the heritage list of Unesco, invites in the stroll. Whitewashed houses, doors, ramparts, peaceful places where to drink a mint tea.
Workshops of the craftsmen: local woodcarvers, cabinet and marquetery makers who work especially the thuya.

Essaouira does not forget the music. Since 2000, the “Printemps musical des alizés » celebrates all the musics. For more than ten years, at the beginning of the summer, the city welcomes a remarkable festival dedicated to the gnaoua music and whose programming is also opened to the music’s of the world and to the jazz.

At Essaouira’s exit, direction to Agadir, on the left before the bridge and the crossroads towards the green of golf, you can leave your car by the roadside and walk through the sort of scrub-land which stretches on several kilometres. The environment is magnificent and the quiet insurant.
Visit argan trees forests on a camel back for a lasting days excursion. With the swaying rhythm of the vessel of the desert, dive into villages.
Activities around the house and Essaouira 3: Learn about the pottery, the manufacturing of the bread or in the traditional cooking.
Visit of the city of Safi and the potters (100 km) and lunch of seafood’s in the parks of Oualidia 30 km after Safi (coastal road on the way out and by lands on the way back).
The Gorani cave, not far from Beddouza Cape, shelters rupestral vestiges and diverse objects in clay dating the Neolithic.
Visit the salt mines and the small fishing port of Tafelney (45 km) with small fish restaurants on the beach.
Drive towards the Zerrar dam through magnificent landscapes… this work is located about thirty kilometres of Essaouira, upstream to the Ksob wadi. To reach the site, set off to Agadir until Tidzi then, to the left the road to Neknafa. About ten kilometres farther, a track on the left, of 7 km, leads to the construction site, nevertheless the access is forbidden.
