The apartment is situated on the 3rd floor and comfortably sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms, with the option to sleep 2 further people on the sofa bed. The bedrooms are configured as follows: master en-suite bedroom with King sized bed, 1 x twin-bed room and 1 x bunk-bed room, which sleep 6 comfortably.

The bright and airy Living / dining room opens out onto a large south and east facing balcony which provides views up to Tracouet (2200 metres) and views to the east down the Rhone Valley. The living area has an open fire and benefits from a TV, DVD, iPod docking station and a selection of board games. The apartment also benefits from free wi-fi.

The accommodation also comprises a separate fully fitted kitchen (including a dishwasher, all kitchen utensils and 2 x fondue sets), an additional bathroom and plenty of storage.

Winter activities: Nendaz is part of the world renowned 4 Vallees ski area which also includes the villages of Verbier, Les Collons, Thyon, Veysonnaz and La Tzoumaz. The area, which is one of the largest skiing domains in Europe, extends to 412 km of ski runs served by 92 lifts and rising to a high point above Mont Fort Glacier at 3,300 metres above sea level.

Skiing/Snowboarding is the main attraction for most visitors during the winter months, however there are plenty of other activities/attractions for non-skiers or for those who simply fancy doing something different including snow-shoeing, sledging, snow-tubing or cross country skiing.

Summer activities: The summer months in Nendaz are an exceptional experience with temperatures regularly around the mid 20's degree Celsius and (according to the Tourist Office) it has the same number of sunshine hours as the French Riviera.

Whether you chose to relax beside the heated outdoor swimming pool, take a walk along the highly acclaimed Bisses or take part in more energetic pursuits such as Mountain Biking and Hiking there is something for everyone in Nendaz.

Families: Nendaz has been given the “Families Welcome” Award. This label is accredited by the Swiss Tourism Federation to resorts that are particularly convenient for families and focus on the needs and wishes of parents, children and people who accompany them.

Chris & Gillian come from Scotland, where we've been skiing, hill walking and mountain biking for over 30 years.

We now have 2 young children who are learning to ski in Nendaz (as well as Scotland), and we love the way the village is set-up for families with good childcare facilities and several quality ski schools.

In the summer, we enjoy walking along the various Bisses, mountain biking around the 4 Vallees and going to the weekly Market for a glass of local wine!

We chose Nendaz as it forms part of world class 4 Vallees ski area, whilst being cheaper all round and benefiting from easy access to the European motorway network as well as Geneva and Zurich Airports.

The property is situated in the middle of the village close to all the main shops (including 2 supermarkets), restaurants and bars, yet it is set back from the main road and therefore benefits from a peaceful location with great views up Tracouet/Dent de Nendaz.

Access to the nearest ski lift is just 300 metres away.

The apartment has balconies on 3 sides and therefore benefits from some great views up Tracouet/Dent de Nendaz and to the east down the Rhone Valley. There is free wifi, TV, iPod docking station and a DVD player, plus many DVDs for people to watch.

As we have a couple of young children, we know what it is like to travel with them and the challenges this can bring, so offer a travel cot, high chair, change mat, children's crockery, plus many games, toys and DVDs to keep them entertained!

EXCELLENT FAMILY SKIING HOLIDAY

We are just back from 2 weeks in Nendaz and one of our best family ski holidays yet. The apartment was fantastic and was fully equipped with everything a family of 5 would need and were particularly impressed with the wooden furniture throughout which I think is a new addition. We were away over Xmas and New Year so having uk tv channels was also a bonus!

We were so at home that we ate in for 15 nights!

The location of the apartment was fantasic with a great supermarket only a few minutes away and the new lift to the telecabine makes life a lot easier with 3 kids in tow - we left our skis at the ski locker which also helped.

Our children were in ski lessons with Neige Aventure for the duration of our holiday, the variety of lessons, quality of instructors and organisation was fantastic and ensured our children improved their skiing but also gave us time to ski on our own.

We travelled to Nendaz by train from the airport then bus to the resort. Our journey was smooth and stress free - I would recommend buying your tickets before you travel though, it makes life much easier and our kids travelled free. I think it was called a transfer ticket and covers the train and bus.

A fantastic holiday and would highly recommend the apartment and Nendaz.

SUPER WEEK

We visited Nendaz for the last 10 days of the ski season (8-17 April) and had a magic time. After fairly limited snow across much of the Alps during March, we were nervous about how long the snow might last at the end of the season. However, there was a lot of snow right at the end of March and beginning of April, which meant that there was ample snow to ski back to the village from the top of Tracouet - helped largely by the fact that the slopes down into the village predominantly face north and have stacks of snow canons. At the top of Tracouet itself, there was stacks of the white stuff.

We also spent much of our time at Siviez as the kids were in ski school there. Access to the higher slopes from here was really easy and the quality of snow up top on runs like Mont Gele and the Glacier was outstanding.

The apartment itself, was a perfect base for us. With 2 young (ish) kids it was ideally situated close to the shops/restaurants and a 3 minute walk to the nearest lift. The apartment was exactly as described and had awesome views up the piste and to the East down the Rhone Valley.

In summary, great apartment and we loved Nendaz - hopefully will return soon.

NENDAZ - GREAT ACCOMODATION, GREAT PLACE

We arrived to find the accomodation in excellent condition and the staff at the Agency were very helpful. We were impressed by the size of all 3 bedrooms, with great views afforded from the all-round balcony. The kitchen is fairly well-equipped, the table sits 6 comfortably and the sofa is big and comfy! There is an excellent folder provided with all the information you need for a visit to Nendaz and the surrounding area. The iPad docking station and specified car slot are a great bonus. Swiss supermarkets can be expensive for meats and alcohol, so half of our group drove from Lincs. via a French supermarket. (FYI departed Nendaz Sunday 25th March 9am, arrived Eurotunnel by 5pm.) The rest of us flew out to Sion, returning from Geneva (bus to Sion and then train to Geneva took only c.3 hours and you enjoy fabulous views of the mountains then Lake Geneva).

We visited Nendaz for a ski holiday and even though the link between Nendaz pistes and Verbier valley were closed that week, the free bus between Nendaz and Siviez is efficiently run. Nendaz ski area is great for fun red runs through the trees. Siviez has excellent chair-lift access to the wide variety of ski areas in the 4 valleys: wide pistes high up to the West (long button tows, but they're a good warm-up!), fun tree-lined pistes running into Siviez, and over to the Verbier bowl in the East via gondalas and chairs. It can take no more than 30 mins to reach the snowboard park in Verbier, or mogul runs from Mont Fort. Even the lower runs are at a good height and the pistes are well-cared for: heavy snow on our second night meant we enjoyed good snow for the rest of the week.

As six adults we were disappointed that many of the Nendaz tourist bars lacked atmosphere, but the town has a few good bars supported by locals and it's an attractive place to stay (much more so than Siviez). There are a few bars near the Tracouet telecabine which provided goof apres-ski, particularly one further up the piste where you can watch the sun set from a comfy deckchair... or beanbag!

We were so taken with the accomodation that we are looking to stay later this year to enjoy a summer walking holiday.

SUPER! PERFECT PLACE FOR OUR HOLIDAY.

My family and I had a great holiday here in January. The owner was excellent in providing useful information prior to our arrival and the apartment was exactly as detailed.

The big plus for us was the location of the apartment - it is very central and immediately next to supermarkets and the local shops. Everything was close by which was exactly what we needed.

It is about a 5 minute walk to the Tracouet Telecabine which meant it was not too far for our little boy to walk - although we did find out that a new link lift was due to open in February which will cut the walk in half.

Skiing wise, Nendaz has some great skiing above the village both for beginners and more established skiers. For us, the beginner slopes at the top of Tracouet were brilliant, especially the magic carpet which is ideal for really young kids. My husband did, however, manage an afternoon trip over to Verbier.

We loved the general ambience of the village and it was a great holiday all round - as a result we've re-booked a week in the July so we can experience the Alps in Summer!

Recommended for: Skiers/Boarders of all standards, Families with young children, General all round adventure seekers.

EXCELLENT WEEK IN A GREAT APARTMENT.

This is a great apartment in a good, central location, and we would highly recommend it.

The website description is accurate, the apartment was spotless and had all the facilties required.

The owner was extremely helpful during the booking process and their own website and directions made things very easy. Making an international payment to Switzerland did incur a bank charge, but the owner is looking into options to try and improve this situation.

We were in Haute Nendaz during a relatively quiet time at the end of June, and so a few of the bars and restaurants weren't open, but the local walks were great and being so high up, the views were stunning.

One thing to note - no supermarkets open on a Sunday, except a small one about a mile back down towards Basse Nendaz.

APPARTEMENT NENDAZ

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine à Nendaz.
L'appartement est très central, aux pieds de tous les commerces (un vrai supermarché, contrairement à ce que l'on trouve en France en station !), et pourtant très calme et bien isolé.
La terrasse face soleil est très agréable au retour des pistes pour siroter un verre.
L'appartement était vraiment très propre à notre arrivée. Bien équipé et bonne literie.
Par contre, nous étions 8 personnes, et une 4e chambre aurait été bien appréciée. Le dépliage du canapé-lit chaque soir est un peu fastidieux.
L'appartement et l'environnement correspondent bien à l'annonce du propriétaire.
Je recommenderai cet appartement pour une ou 2 familles; assez soigneuses, car les meubles et le parquet sont en bois, très chaleureux, mais peuvent s'avérer fragiles si on ne respecte pas les consignes du propriétaire.

Residence Les Busards is an attractive 3 bedroom apartment in the Swiss Alpine resort of Nendaz. This family friendly resort is a delightful French speaking village which lies on a sunny terrace above the Rhone Valley within the Valais region of Switzerland. It is situated in the heart of the 4 Vallees, one of the largest ski areas in Europe with 412km of piste covering Nendaz, Verbier, Veysonnaz, La Tzoumaz, Thyon and Les Collons.

Nendaz is also a great summer holiday destination with numerous mountain biking and walking trails along with an outdoor swimming pool. The weather is particularly amiable and boasts as much sun as the French Riviera and given its location the views of surrounding scenery are spectacular.

The apartment provides good quality self catering accommodation capable of sleeping 6 to 8 people and is situated only 300 metres to the nearest ski lift, 500 metres from the Tracouet telecabine and is adjacent to all the main shops and restaurants. There is a open fire in the sitting room and balconies on 3 sides of the apartment with views up Tracouet. There is also free wi-fi, DVD player and an iPod docking station available.

Golf: There are 3 good quality 18 hole golf courses all within easy reach of Nendaz including Crans Sierre, home to the Omega European Masters Championship.

Ski: A telecabine links the village of Nendaz to Tracouet at 2,200 m, which in turn links into the rest of the 4 Vallees lift system via Siviez. Alternatively, a regular free bus service runs between Nendaz and Siviez providing direct access to the other parts of the 4 Vallees.

Most of the ski runs are over 1700 m in altitude and those leading back to the resort are equipped with artificial snow canons, which guarantees high quality snow conditions from December to April.

The pistes across the 4 Vallees are vast and extremely varied. For beginners, areas around Tracouet and Siviez offer excellent slopes for learning. For the more experienced, runs such as Mont Fort, Col des Gentianes and Chassoure offer some testing and often bumpy conditions.

First Tracks - Every Thursday, you can be the first on the pistes with the early lift up Tracouet, taking in a hearty breakfast before flying down the deserted pistes. Further information can be obtained from the Tourist Information.
