This impressive, liscenced rental, two-story custom home is beautifully designed with a two bedroom separate entrance rental unit with air-conditioned living and lanai area. Surrounded by exotic tropical gardens, you are just steps, just 75 yards, to Kailua's most beautiful white, sandy beach and sparkling blue waters.
Kailua is a small town located on the beautiful northeast shore of Oahu. It is loved for its many beaches and accessible off-shore islands. It is only a 25-minute scenic drive to the airport, Honolulu, and Waikiki. Nearby sites include Sea Life Park, The Blow Hole, Haunauma Bay, and the North Shore.
The beautiful, 3 mile stretch of sparkling Kailua Beach and adjoining Lanikai Beach have been rated tops among America’s best beaches. Swim with the green sea turtles. Kayak or sail to one of the secluded offshore islands to enjoy shelling while you watch the whales breech offshore.
Relax in the shade of a swaying palm tree, swim in turquoise blue Pacific waters, or walk for miles and miles on the spectacular sandy beach. The only thing not to be found here is the crowds of Waikiki.

We had a wonderful week here - steps to the beach and all the amenities we had hoped for. We were far enough removed from town - it's very quiet here with little to no traffic - but close enough for our daily shopping trips. The beach was amazing for swimming, walking or just people watching. Diana and Russell accommodated our every need - all we had to do was ask. Thank goodness for the top-of-the-line washer and dryer which is very necessary in a weeklong stay at the beach! Beds were comfortable (I even lifted up the linens to see what brand it was so I could get one like it!) and the fans kept us cool all night. The kitchen, while on the small side, was plenty big enough for preparing our meals, especially with all fresh fruit and veggies available on the island. Diana told us about the Farmer's Market and we had the best fresh-grown produce I've ever eaten. OK, if you haven't guessed by now, I'd go back in a heartbeat. We had a truly magical time and we plan on visiting for our vacation next summer.
We had a great vacation but this review is not about our vacation....it's about where we stayed. We arrived around 3PM and entry was easy because of the electric door lock and previously supplied access code. This is an upper unit and it was very warm inside upon our arrival. There is A/C but it was not turned on in anticipation of our arrival. The bedrooms were spacious. The master has its own bathroom. The bathroom for the second bedroom is downstairs by the entry door. Neither bathroom has an exhaust fan.
The lanai is off the second bedroom and not through a common door. The living room couch was comfortable and spacious enough for the 4 of us. Nice flat screen TV's all around. There was no printed channel lineup. There are ceiling fans in all rooms that are controlled by remotes.
The kitchen is small but OK for two to be in there making a meal. It should be noted by the uninitiated that kitchenette means no oven. There is no oven in the kitchen and the microwave is not a convection type microwave. It is fairly well stocked for ones cooking and eating needs though.
Second bedroom does have an in-room closet. Closet is 1/2 of laundry area. (Front load washer and dryer) There was a highchair in the closet which made it crowded but Diana gladly allowed us to remove it to their garage.
We rented a standard size car, Impala, and parking in driveway was not a problem for us. It would absolutely be a problem for a larger vehicle.
The beach acces was a very short walk from the house with a full on view of the daily sunrise. Local stores were a short drive away and there is a local convenience store down Kaleheo St. 1 mile away. Down Kaleheo St 1 mile the other way on the right is a local bar and grill that opens at 7 AM for Sunday football. If you are military active or retired you are only a short drive from Marine Corps Base Kaneohe.
I'm only rating the apartment 3 stars but it deserves 3 1/2 because of the beach acces and convenience. We did not hear any barking dogs even though the houses are crammed in as tightly as possible. Privacy was not a problem with either the neighbors or the owners.
This is an apartment that should not be rented by more than 4 adults nor anyone who has trouble climbing stairs.
We so enjoyed our time here! The accommodations were beachy and comfortable. The location was perfect -- (a 50 yard? walk down a sandy path to the beach). The house is only a few minutes drive to the Kailua Beach Park area where we rented SUP boards to Flat Island. Also, a 10 minute drive to some great hikes, especially the Olomana Trail if you want to get your adrenaline pumping! The absolute only downside was that parking an SUV is a tad tight and tricky in the space provided. We had a fabulous time and look forward to staying here again!
We loved our stay at this rental house. It was well stocked and had everything we needed. From beach stuff like boogie boards, chairs, coolers and beach towels to the kitchen stuff such as paper towels, coffee filters, sandwich bags, and plastic wrap. When we arrived the propane tank on the gas grill was empty. We contacted the owners and they had it remedied by the next day! It was a great stay. Other than parking, which is a little tight (we had a 2012 Camry and it barely fit in the area right in front of the door you see in the picture and the owner parking in front of the garage) this was a great place to stay. The ocean is just a little walk down a path away!! Thanks again! We have been to a lot of beaches and by far Kailua is one of the top 3!
We spent a wonderful week at this Palione property. We enjoyed our vacation very much. The rental property is beautiful and very quiet with almost all equipments. It was little bit hot in the day time but after the sunset, it was very comfort with the trade wind. It took only 2 or 3 min from this house to Kailua beach, where we could enjoy like a private beach. Our family has three kids and they enjoyed body boards very much at the beach. We went Lanikai beach, Wet'n Wild, Alamoana, etc. It took less than one hour from Kailua by car. Although we are Japanese and not native English speakers, it was not difficult to communicate with the owners. They are very kind.
We recommend this property very much and we would like to be the repeaters.
We spend a wonderfull week with our two year old daughter here. The property is beautiful and very clean and has everything you need (from beach towels, to children sand toys). The small kitchen has also more than you need in terms of utensils and even salt, oil and spices! The location is fabulous, just a about 50-60 meters from the beach. It is very quiet neighbourhood and the only things you will hear are the ocean and the wind. Both the property and the beach are nicer than the pictures show it. We would love to come back on a future vacation.
Kailua is great for Surfing, Kite Boarding, and swimming, Bike on Miles & Miles of Beautiful Bike & Jogging Trails, Enjoy Hiking & Rock Climbing in the picturesque Jagged Mountains, then cool off under a waterfall, There is Excellent Golf & Tennis nearby as well as Basketball, Spa, Olympic-sized Pool, Kailua has Great Shopping too with Big Name Stores, Unique Boutiques, Antiques, Theaters, & many Fine Restaurants & Ethnic Foods, as well as most of your Favorite Franchises, These are just some Year Round Activities to be enjoyed in Kailua
