The house nestles below the Camp de Caesar, on the outskirts of Gouvieux, 40 km north of Paris - and just over 2hrs drive from Eurotunnel. Chantilly which is 3km away is a famous horse racing centre with a lovely chateau and horse museum. The forests are vast and ideal for walks and biking. There is a large swimming pool complex within walking distance and a lake with sandy beach, 10mins drive. There are 5 golf courses within easy reach. The area is rich in historical sites from Roman times through to the 1st and 2nd World Wars. Other places of interest and approx. driving time; The Impressionists 30mins, Paris/Stade de France 40mins (also easy access by train from Chantilly or Orry), EuroDisney 60 min, WW1 battlefields 90mins.

The center of Gouvieux is a short walk away and has a twice weekly market, supermarket, bakeries, cafe and a range of other shops. Within a short drive there is a hypermarket zone and a good range of restaurants. The grounds of the house are over 5700sq. mts with lawn going into a steeply wooded area. There are garden chairs, BBQ and outdoor playroom. Across the road is a small public park with basketball net, boules pitch and roller skating area. There is a larger park in the village with skateboarding area, mini golf etc.

The ‘Paul Rose’ Apartment, is a large studio-apartment (53m2) which can accomodate 3-4 people, but ideal for couples, which can be used in conjunction with the Monet apartment as it is also on the first floor. Gas central heating. Many exposed beams open to the apex of the roof. Open plan with a double and single bed. Raised dining area, small kitchen with fridge, 2 hot-plates, oven and microwave. Bathroom with bath and washhand basin. Separate WC. Pull-out bed available for fourth person.
