This beautifully restored and spacious Tuscan farmhouse close to Florence, has terracotta floors, original beams and traditional local furniture, and lies in 8 acres of wild flower-covered meadows. Enjoying spectacular views, the house is private and secluded. There are walnut, fig, apricot and cherry trees and a profusion of lavender, rosemary and thyme. The main house has 4 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with showers, 4 large living rooms including fully-fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, telephone and wi-fi internet access. An additional double bedroom with ensuite shower is available at extra cost. Close to the house is a 12m x 6m swimming pool with shade provided by cherry and walnut trees. There is a covered magnificent dining terrace with spectacular views of the Sieve Valley. A portable barbecue is provided. Londa - 10 mins, Florence - 45 mins by train or car. A1 autodtrada 45 mins. English owners.

L'Olmo is situated in a secluded and elevated position, 600 metres above the village of Londa with spectacular panoramic views of a unique and undiscovered area of Tuscany known as the Mugello/Val di Sieve. The Mugello was the home of the Medici, men of great culture and patrons of artists and writers as well as businessmen and bankers. The lush green rolling landscape is dotted with tall cypresses, peaks and passes and many old Medici palaces and villas remain. The whole area is rich in culture and art and provides the perfect setting to explore and investigate or relax and enjoy the many riches the area has to offer. The area is served by 4 major airports - Florence, Pisa, Bologna and Forli and is easily accessed from the A1 autostrada. Londa is just 45 minutes from Florence by train or car and major Tuscan towns such as Siena, Pisa, Lucca and San Gimignano are easily reached for day trips.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The above prices are for the Main House only (sleeps a maximum of 8). The respective weekly prices with the extra bedroom (sleeps a max. of 10) are £2,500: £2,000: £1,500: £2,000: £2,500: £3,000: £2,500 and £2,000.
    The easiest method of payment is by direct bank (wire) transfer and we also accept cheques. If you wish to know prices in another currency please consult your bank for the current exchange rate. Contact us if you would like a booking form or wish to discuss your booking and payment method. We will accept payment in Euro and US dollars.
    Rental rates include:
    Use of water, gas and electricity
    For 2 week rentals up to 4 hours of cleaning and change of bed linen, towels and tea towels on the middle Saturday.
    Daily maintenance of the pool and garden (in season).
    Rental rates exclude:
    Central heating and wood for the fire.
    Telephone calls and Internet access.
  • Booking & Payment
    If the booking is made more than 56 days before departure, 30% of total rental costs must be paid as a deposit. The balance of rental costs must be paid no later than 56 days before departure. Dates can be held provisionally pending receipt of the deposit, but bookings will not be confirmed until the deposit has been received. All confirmations will be given in writing.
    Cancellation
    In the event of cancellation the following charges will apply:
    more than 56 days prior to departure - the deposit
    28 to 56 days prior to departure - 50% of rental costs
    Within 28 days of departure - total rental costs
    Damage & Breakage Deposit
    The deposit for damages and breakages is £400 and should be paid when the balance is due. If there have been breakages or damages an amount to cover the costs will be agreed with us before you leave and the balance will be returned within 2 weeks of your holiday.
  • Final Cleaning
    There is a charge of €100 for Final Cleaning payable in cash before departure. The house will be thoroughly cleaned before you arrive and you are asked to leave it in the condition you found it.
    Holiday Insurance
    You must arrange for holiday insurance cover for all members of the party. This should cover you against loss of irrevocable deposit and any other charges following necessary cancellation of your holiday rental resulting from death, injury or illness occurring after your booking has been made. You should also arrange for full medical cover for everyone in your party.
    Group Size
    Except by prior arrangement the number of people staying at L'Olmo cannot exceed 8 if you book only the main house or 10 if you also book the extra bedroom. Only those people whose names are on the booking form may use the facilities at the house

  • All bathrooms are modern, fully tiled and clean. There is an ample supply of hot water and good pressure. Shower and bath mats are provided as well as hand soap and tissues.

  • All the beds are of the highest quality with new firm mattresses and soft pillows. Sheets, towels and face cloths are 100% cotton. Extra blankets and comforters are available. All bedrooms have wardrobes and chest-of-drawers, bedside tables and lights. There are net curtains to prevent entering insects at night and outside shutters to keep the rooms cool during the day. One of the twin bedrooms leads off the master bedroom so it is ideal for small children. The other twin rooms can be made up as doubles or single beds. The 5th bedroom is an optional extra but will not be let if you do not take it. Children up to the age of 3 who sleep in a cot are not included in the people count. We have 3 children's cots, high chairs and baby toys for the house and the pool.

We have just returned from this wonderful tuscan farmhouse. A truly idyllic location. The farmhouse and grounds are kept in a beautiful condition by its owners. Our mixed age group party all said that they really enjoyed this holiday in a beautiful uncommercialised part of tuscany. I would certainly recommend this farmhouse,
