Beautiful 3 bedroom penthouse apartment

on the 5 star Roda Golf & Beach Resort.

Fully air-conditioned and also with full gas central heating for the occasional chilly winter evening.

The large living room is furnished to a very high standard with twin sofas, TV with satellite channels, DVD player, CD player, Playstation 2 and a Wii if the weather ever lets you down. There is also wifi allowing you to stay in touch at all times.

The apartment is ideal for families – and there is a small collection of toys and a high chair available for your use.

From the living room full height patio doors lead onto the balcony overlooking the gardens, with a garden sofa and matching easy chairs allowing you to extend your living space to the outdoors. From the balcony, stairs lead up to the massive roof terrace with large table and chairs plus sun beds and BBQ, The views from here over the resort, Los Alcazares and the Mar Menor Sea are stunning and the terrace is particularly enjoyable out of season when it provides a perfect suntrap.

The master bedroom has a king size bed (which can also be divided to make it into two singles) and a full en-suite bathroom. Full height patio doors lead onto a small balcony.

The second and third bedrooms have 2 single beds each and use of a separate shower room.

The well equipped kitchen has everything you could need including a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.

The gardens have a selection of swimming pools that you have access to – and are beautifully maintained. There are also several playgrounds for younger children dotted around the resort, plus you can access tennis courts and an astro turf football pitch close to the golf club. The apartment also comes with secure underground car parking which is a must in the summer months for keeping your car cool.

The beach club is located on La Manga strip and can be accessed by car or by taking the boat across the Mar Menor, and the public beaches are a few minutes drive away with free parking.

There is a small shop on site, and supermarkets and restaurants within two or three minutes drive. There is also a great restaurant on site at the golf club, and two or three within walking distance.

Los Alcazares is situated in the Murcia region of south-eastern Spain, also known as the Costa Calida. The town sits on the western shore of the Mar Menor, a lagoon separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a 22 kilometre long strip of land called La Manga. The area enjoys an average of 320 days of sunshine each year and the water is always warmer than the Mediterranean Sea. Bars, cafes and restaurants are all around and the town still has thermal baths which have existed since Roman times. Throughout the year, the area offers boundless opportunities for sports and other activities. The old Roman town of Cartagena is 15 minutes away, with plenty of shops, the harbour and the Roman Amphitheatre. The regional capital of Murcia is under half an hour with further shopping, the cathedral and plenty of traditional Spanish culture (including an active Plaza del Toros).

Roda Golf is a fabulous 18 hole course and also hosts a full PGA school. There are many more courses within 10 - 30 minutes drive including the Jack Nichlaus Trail and the world famous La Manga Club.

Throughout the year there are a number of festivals and street parties – and in the summer the golf club holds its own small fiesta with activities for the whole family. There are several water parks within an easy drive, and in the summer months there are many large night markets and fun fairs in the area. There is also a great safari park, and the local sailing club offers lessons in English – including in small groups for children

Lovely apartment, home from home

I have stayed in this apartment three times now since September 2014 and have had lovely holidays with my children, grandchildren and my mum. The roof terrace is delightful and huge, kitchen very well equipped, beds very comfortable, and living room light and airy with lots of games and some toys for small children. There was plenty of hot water, air con for hot weeks and central heating for cooler evenings. accessible for wheelchair users with lift from garden or car park, lovely pool and garden, great food at the clubhouse and within five minutes of several safe sandy beaches. The prioperty manager is friendly and helpful. We are already planning more stays!

The beaches of the Mar Menor are just 3 minutes drive away. The beaches are very clean and safe for children.

The Mar Menor itself is a natural salt water lagoon spanning some 27k long and 9km wide. It is shallow and great for bathing, water sports etc. The deepest point in the centre is a mere 7 metres. The lagoon is protected from the Mediterranean Sea by La Manga strip.

Senorio de Roda can be reached directly from the AP 7 motorway. San Javier Airport is only 10 min. away and Alicante less then an hour away.

Roda and the surrounding area are very Spanish and benefit from a thriving local community with plenty of local shops, markets leisure and restaurants waiting to be explored.

Cartagena and Murcia are within a 20 min. drive and these are beautiful Spanish cities.

Cartagena has been renowned as an important port since Roman times and Murcia a Mecca for shops and baroque architecture.
