Penthouses on the Island of Ciovo. 15 minute drive from Split airport. 3 minute walk to secluded beach. Each penthouse features a CD player, DVD & Digital TV. We have 2,3 and 4 bedroom penthouses available for rental. All have large living/dining areas, fully fitted kitchens with microwave, full cooker, fridge freezer & washing machine. Fresh bed linen and towels supplied. There is a small market 1 minute from the apartment. The supermarket and main village is a 10 minute walk. There are also water sports and activities 10 minutes further along the beach. Tennis club and courts are a 3 minute walk. Hotel Villa Katarina is minutes away and has a very good restaurant catering all day, ideal for lunch and dinner. Trogir is 5 minutes away by car. Trogir is a medieval town protected by UNESCO with over 100 restaurants and bars and a beautiful port with entertainment & cocktail bars. This penthouse is spacious with high ceilings and has the added advantage of being the largest of the apartments and easily sleeps up to 8 people (4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms). This is also a front facing penthouse with an absolutely amazing view which you can enjoy from the dining and living area. A welcome pack is provided for guests to grasp an understanding of the surrounding area. Also there is an extensive collection of music to use throughout your stay. We have on site staff at the premises and we hope this added service is of benefit to you as our guest. You are in walking distance of pretty much everything you could think of. You are a few minutes from restaurants, the market, the beach, taxi services etc. Don't forget to ask about discounts we have arranged in the local restaurants on your first meals.   • The season in Ciovo over the last few years has been getting longer. The season now starts as early as March/April and running right through to October and November. We have had many clients go over at these times of year and have really enjoyed it. We think there is a benefit for each month and it depends on what holiday experience you are looking for. For example the early months of March and April offer a relaxed quite atmosphere plus Croatia offers warm weather in comparison to the UK, Ireland and Germany etc. The high season offers very warm weather, a lively atmosphere, right in the hustle and bustle of everything. The end of the season offers the last of the summer sun, a great time to do some sightseeing and to get a feel for Croatia and its beautiful countryside. Lots of festivals take place throughout the whole year. Split offers the Opera and Ballet. Why not go at Easter or Mid Term breaks? Fantastic Holiday

We arrived at destination at night, so first holiday impressions were of the apartment, and all I can say is what a great beginning to our holiday! The apartment was huge and airy - really spacious and attractive, Most importantly it was spotlessly clean. Vlado and Josepa made us feel immediately welcome when they greeted us, and were really helpful, giving us some good information and pointers for our holiday.
The view from the balcony of the nearby beach and indigo sea the next morning was just beautiful! The beach itself was just a few minutes stroll away, walking along the quiet twisty lanes between the pretty houses and their gardens (the whole area is really peaceful and restful). The beach - a white pebble one - was great, not at all hectic, with plenty of sunbeds available, and there's several restaurants in the immediate vicinity that serve food all day too, their menus providing plenty of choice. There was also a good supermarket beside the beach too. At night we stayed in Ciovo either enjoying one of the friendly local restaurants or else cooking ourselves at the apartment, for which the kitchen is ideal (as it's really kitted out just like the one at home) and eating at the large dining table or al fresco on the large balcony
The apartment really proved a comfortable home for our party of six for the ten days we were there, as it contained everything we could possibly need.
The other thing that made this holiday to Croatia so enjoyable was the the town of Trogir next door. We were unaware before we arrived that we would be neighbouring a World Heritage Site! Trogir is really very beautiful, absolutely stunning! It's only a short taxi ride/ few euro away from the apartment. After wandering around the old town there we'd sit out and watch the beautiful people disembark their yachts in the harbour! We went into Trogir every second night (there's many bars and restaurants) though we'd heartily recommend that you make at least one trip to see it during daylight. The combination of the apartment and the area of Ciovo and Trogir made for a brilliant holdiay, we really felt so lucky. Becasuse we were there for ten days we thought it would be a waste not to explore a little and travelled to the islands of Hvar and Brac - making a fantastic two day trip of it. We have, without doubt, fallen for this particular part of Croatia - and look forward to returning to the same spot and apartment again as it was just idea for us - Fay Family
Owner's Response: We are extremely happy with this review. The Fay's really did enjoy their time on Ciovo and we feel this sums up the whole experience of a break at the penthouses.

We would certainly agree with the day or overnight stay to Hvar or Brac - the ferry's connect regularly from Split.

Another great thing to do is one of the boat trips around the islands - these depart on Ciovo - make sure to shop around and find out what is included in the price - some of the bigger boats can be quite packed so consider a smaller more intimate boat.

Thanks Alison for our first introduction to Croatia, the apartment is very spacious we were a party of five, it was nice and clean and has everything we needed, a bit of a climb up the stairs so not so good for the elderly or unfit, the sea is lovely and about a ten minute stroll away, there are about four restaurants within ten minutes walk, two bars in the village an uphill walk and several bars along the beach, beware going in September as all the local bars close about 11pm due to lack of trade, fine for us but not so good if you want to party all night, more life in Trogir but again the water taxi finishes at 10pm and a taxi was a bit pricey at £25 for about 4miles, we liked the absence of sports bars, fish and chips and the British Pub that has spoiled most destinations in Europe and we will be returning to Croatia.

Lovely apartment

This was a large, airy and well equipped apartment just a few minutes stroll from a fairly quiet gravel beach. The apartment was spotlessly clean and we were welcomed warmly on arrival.

We had a wonderful week.here, We ate out each evening - there was a good choice of local restaurants but on four nights we took the water taxi to Trogir. Trogir was lovely - a maze of tiny streets filled with cafes and restaurants and great ice cream shops!

I highly recommend booking a sea kayaking trip with Falco tours based in Trogir (find them on the inteernet or ask at Tourist office). We had a full day trip kayaking 7 km to a nearby island and back. The kayaks and other equipment were very good, our guides were highly experienced and all necessary safety equipment was provided.

I would recommend this apartment if you want a peaceful holiday in a pleasant resort surrounded by other similar-minded holidaymakers. Although there were plenty of lively bars (if you wanted them) there was no evidence of drunkeness or bad behaviour.

This is a great choice if you do not want to hire a car as it is only a 20 minute taxi ride from Split airport and the water taxi to Trogir runs every 30 minutes and is cheap.

The apartment is on the top floor and there is no lift - no problem for us but bear in mind if elderley or if you have very young children.

Super Super Holiday

We had a lovely holiday - what a lovely country - what a lovely island - what lovely people. Ciovo is so pretty and old fashioned. We loved the food and spent most of our time at Katrina where Leonard looked after us for the duration of our stay. They even presented us with a bottle of liquer and olive oil at the end! We also went to the Mali Raj - food was fab!!

Your apartment is lovely, clean and very spacious, actually its huge. Your description of the apartment was spot on. We had everything we needed and your cd's were great to listen to while sitting out on the balcony, enjoying the view. Everything was perfect and the best thing was it was so close to everything.

Alison responded to all queries promptly. We had a number of questions prior to arriving and she was always so helpful. Vlado was as helpful when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. He showed us around the apartment and told us about the local attractions.

We will definately return one day and will certainly recommend it to friends. Big thanks :)

Perfect holiday much more than I expected!

Anne, we would like to thank you for such an amazing holiday. Everything was so well organised and the apt was more than expected. The apt is furnished to such a high spec and is so spacious. The 4 bed apt was more than adequate for the whole family. The location was perfect, after breakfast we would walk down to the beach and because the apt was so close to the beach everyone had the freedom to come and go as they pleased. During the afternoon we would eat in one of the many restaurants along the seafront which was very reasonable and had a wide choice for all. Some nights we went into Trogir, if you like people watching this is a place to go, the place is buzzing and there are beautiful yachts when you walk into the town. The town has amazing restaurants set inside narrow streets full of character. Staying in Ciova gave us alot of flexibility as the apt is only 20 mins from the airport and about 20mins to the port where you can travel to other islands around croatia. We traveled to Hvar. I would recommend Ciova for anyone who is seeking a quiet unspoilt location which gives the flexibility and option to travel around, suitable for all ages, families and friends. I am looking forward to returning ...
