Le Logis is a beautiful 250 year old granite cottage in the heart of the Normandy countryside. It has a homely atmosphere with comfortable accommodation & modern conveniences. A cozy lounge with wooden beams & a wood burner set in a huge granite fireplace, TV/DVD (English & French). The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with a large electric oven with six gas hobs, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, coffee maker, toaster, high chair, etc..
We have 5 bedrooms: the first bedroom has an antique four poster double bed next to a bathroom & toilet; second has a en-suite canopied double bed with a door leading to the third room which can accommodate a small child or baby; fourth is with twin beds that can be made into a double & the fifth has bunk beds.
There is a very large private outside area that has breathtaking views a heated swimming pool with a terrace for BBQ, sunbathing & watching the children enjoy playing in the field or on the swings & slide.
Very nice owners who make you very welcome.
Pretty and quite location, but plenty of places to visit. We was there a week and was out every day.
The photos doesn't do the house justice, as the house is bigger than you expect, set in lots of ground. Very clean and very equipped, with a cosy lounge area.
The pool is obviously a great hit.
Be carefully of the downstairs bedroom, great for the large to medium being, however, grandma was going to joins us, but it's a good job she didn't because, there's a big step down to the loo, bath/shower utility room and bedroom area. The bed looks great, but it is too high for the elderly and small, most probably a little hard. But other than that we would recommend.
Thank you for a lovely week.
It was interesting and lovely to have swimming pool. The pool area and new terrace are laid out, so everything is functioning very well. The pool is wide and roomy and the whole area enacts perfectly with the beautiful surrounding landscape.
The desciption was accurate and the quality of every item is far better, than could be expected. Everything is clean and well kept.
We got a fantastic service in every respect - we also got the chance to buy superb catering, which we will never forget.
I have recommended to relatives and friends.
As the other years we exploited the excellent central location for touring to the many sights of Normandy.
WE STAYED FOR THE 4TH YEAR IN A ROW IN THE LOGIS FOR 5 DAYS AND FIND IT TO BE A VERY PLEASANT PLACE TO STAY IN THE MIDDLE OF NORMANDY WITH EASY ACCESS TO ALL SIGHTS IN THE AREA AND THE LOCATION OF LE LOGIS ITSELF IS NO LESS THAN FANTASTIC AND BEAUTIFUL. THE LANDLORDS ARE VERY NICE AND HOSPITABLE PEOPLE ALWAYS THERE TO ASSIST AND GUIDE. LE LOGIS CAN BE VERY HIGHLY RECOMENDED.
We have just had a wonderfull stay by Tina and Boe
Their hospitality are luxurios and their old building are gentle maintained
The equipment are full complete with all you need inclucive a beautyfull heated pool
Having stayed in many similar properties, Le Logis was without doubt the best. Tina and Boe made us feel exceptionally welcome without being intrusive. Outside the property offers stunning views, plenty of space and a fantastic pool area. The house itself is spacious, comfortable and extremely well equipped. If you want a relaxing location, comfortable beds and perfect hosts, this is the place.
The area of Lower Normandy has much to commend it. There are many sites of historic importance to visit and too many unspoilt French towns in the region to pack into a typical holiday.
Carrouges is a pleasant French village in Lower Normandy boasting a stunning moated castle. On market days its square is vibrant but it has everything you might need in terms of provisions at all other times too.
St Marguerite de Carrouges is a hamlet just a few hundred metres outside Carrouges and Le Logis is a magnificent 18th century property that has been lovingly and tastefully restored by its current owners, Tina and Boe. The gite is a separate building with its own extensive grounds and is beautifully decorated and furnished. It's a property that you would be prvileged to call "home" and proud to invite family and friends to visit. Inside, the gite has everything you could ever need or want and the outside terrace area is magnificently laid out with a paved patio, extensive dining table, and sun canopies to make outside living comfortable and relaxing. There's a childrens play area complete with slides and swings and a new enclosed pool (heated to 22c) providing added luxury for children and adults alike. As if that weren't enough, there are several acres of lawned space dedicated to the gite that offers the perfect space for outside games. It is clear that no expense has been spared to make this gite the perfect holiday accommodation.
Finally, there are the wonderful hosts, Tina and Boe. Tina (originally from Jersey) is great company and a wonderful cook. Boe (Danish) is a mine of information about Le Logis and good fun to talk to about just about anything. Together, they have transformed a run-down estate into a thing of beauty and we indulged ourselves in it during our stay. I can't recommend it highly enough to others. The one problem I now have is that I know I will never find another gite in France that will ever compare to Le Logis..... pity, perhaps, but I can always (and will) go back again!!
Le Logis is situated in the centre of the beautiful tranquil Normandy-Maine regional natural park. We are 1 hour from the nearest Channel Port & the famous Landing Beaches & historical sites.
2 km to the nearest village of Carrouges for your croissants & basic supplies; & to visit the magnificent Château of Carrouges. There are other Châteaux in the area that can be explored.
We live very close to some of the most beautiful & largest forests in France. They are fantastic for walking, running, cycling & horse riding. There are local stables near us.
20 km to a man-made beach & lake for swimming and other water activities a great place for children to play. In this area there are lots of shops & good restaurants, a golf course, tennis, adventures in the trees for young and old a like & a casino.
You can visit the cheese factories, local cider producers & weekly markets, summer shows, museums, a gorge, the stunning Mont St Michel, Caen, Le Mans & Paris.
