Even better than we expected

Just returned from 4 nights in Te Moana. When we first walked upstairs to the spacious bedroom, the view from every window was all azure-blue Caribbean. A small standing-room only deck provided the perfect spot to greet the glorious sunrises and take in the crystal-clear water. Since we stayed in every night, we started every morning kayaking right after sunrise on a glass-sea (we would paddle right by Sandals), followed by snorkeling and swimming. By the time we came back to the cottage, our cook, Hyacinth, had the table set and a wonderful breakfast cooking. (Hyacinth prepared 3 meals a day, cleaned up, did laundry and ironed for us--every meal was perfect!) The open air dining, living room and kitchen, meant every meal was framed by glorious views of the Caribbean and sea breezes. We also hired a driver for a morning (Vincent) and went to Walkerswood (great views and spices), Wassi Pottery (gorgeous Jamaican pottery at a discount), and Dunns River Falls (an adventuresome not-to-be-missed climb up the falls). I also recommend Gloria's fabric shop (on the road to Fern Gully) where you can buy hand-painted material. For only $30 US, I had a hour massage right by the sea. Te Moana is a place to rest, recharge, read, swim, and feast in the natural beauty of Jamaica. (Also a perfect writer's getaway.) Anabella and Peter are generous and involved hosts and we felt like guests at their home.
