Overview

Nice Old Town (Vieux Nice) Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 53 m2, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 2-4

Our bright newly renovated apartment is on the second floor of an historic palace or nobleman's grand house. Its high windows with carved lintels look out on to two of the most desirable streets in Nice old town. To one side is the beautiful baroque church of St Rita, with its pretty tiled belfry; opposite is a friendly, quirky, very Nicoise pavement cafe, perfect to sit and watch the world go by. Try the great restaurants on your doorstep or buy fresh market produce, stroll to the 'caves' for excellent, reasonably priced wines - then cook in our large, well stocked kitchen with its hand painted Italian tiles. The bedroom has original tomette tiles and two double beds: one has a beautiful antique carved headboard and the other occupies the mezzanine level. The living room has a large antique mirror, chandelier, swivel armchair and an L-shaped convertible corner sofa. Open the shutters and let the sun shine in on both sides of our lovely Nicoise Apartment.

Step out of the building's ancient doorway (type 'les portes medievales rue benoit bunico' into your browser if you are interested) and you are instantly in the city's historic heart, very much alive with the everyday comings and goings of its inhabitants, cafe culture, open air restaurants and artistic high spots. If you want to feel at the centre of things, lean out of the window and see the life of the old quarter at first hand, this is the place for you. The old town is probably not the place for an early night or for a quiet getaway. Very few people are not captivated by its bohemian charm.

Many thanks for a wonderful stay at your apartment. The location was excellent, and the apartment had everything we needed. We walked for miles every day and still missed a lot, so hopefully will make a return visit in the near future. Once again, thank you for all your help and thank Satu for us for being so helpful.

Beautiful, central apartment

  • 4 of 5

This was a lovely apartment, right in the middle of everything. 5 of us stayed there and for a weekend break it was perfect. I loved how original the place was, modern yet traditional. I will definitely be booking this again for a weekend with my partner.

It really can't be more perfect

  • 5 of 5

While booking our stay in Nice, the owner has always been very helpful and was answering to my mails nearly in a second. When we arrived at the appartement, the agent of the owner explained us everything perfectly and was very helpful as well. We were two, but there's enough space for four people.

If you don't want to stay in a city and feel like a typical tourist, this appartement with its unique interior design and its location in the middle of the old town is 100% recommendable for you. Additionally, there is a bakery where you can buy original French specialities nearby and a wine shop isn't far away as well, you can buy various Rosé wines which are very typical for Provence.

I personally loved the kitchen with its scandinavian design combined with other tasteful decorations all over the appartement and the lovely French bed in which I was sleeping really, really well. We slept with the windows open hence we could hear someone playing with his accordion, I really felt like I was in an old french movie.

I'd recommend to go to St. Jean Cap Ferrat and walk around the peninsula, you can either get there by bus or you may also rent a car. You definitely should see Village Eze as well and drink a coffee at Château Eza in order to get an incomparable view over the sea (you may also get there easily by bus).

Nice itself has various things to offer i. e. walking through the oldtown was really enjoyable, you will find many nice cafés and bars their.

So don't hesitate and go ahead with your booking, you'll certainly never regret it!

Perfect location

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at the apartment! It was a lot larger than they photos imply so plenty of space for 2 adults and one child. Perfectly located just a 2 minute walk from the beach and a few steps from Cours Saleya. The street below can be a bit noisy but with the brand new double paned windows you don't hear a thing. Communication was Carol the owner was excellent. Would stay here again without a second thought!

A wonderful place for a break

  • 5 of 5

This was a typical French apartment. High ceilings, wooden shutters, ancient stone stairs up to the entrance. We were enthralled!!. Inside , however, it was bright, clean well laid out with enough room for the three of us to have our individual space. The beautifully decorated bedroom had a mezzanine area with another double bed ( not much height , but my friend is only 5ft, so was ideal and great for small people or kids. It was quirky and just marvellous .It was right in the old town and a stones throw from the Coeur Soleya and the Promenade. We couldn't have asked for better. There was a bit of noise in the morning but the kind owner had left disposable earplugs and as we are early risers this was not a problem. Plenty bars locally to watch the world go by and the great restaurant Acchiardo just round the corner. The apartment was well stocked with the essentials and all mod cons ( Dish washer, washing machine etc.)The weather was fine for late October and cocktails at Negresco added to our best trip to Nice ever. We would definitely come back to this property. Thanks to Carol(the owner) and Satu who were very helpful.

Our charming apartment is situated on the corner of rue Benoit Bunico and rue de la Prefecture, a few minutes walk from the famous Cours Saleya and its fruit and flower market, where the wide sweep of the Baie des Anges is visible through the arches of the old town walls. You are surrounded by bustling restaurants, pavement cafes, museums, art galleries, theatres, jazz bars, magnificent baroque churches and winding lanes lined with little shops selling delicious Nicoise specialities and artisan wares. Next to the old town, the beach is free and the sea just as blue but further along the Promenade des Anglais are the grand hotel beaches where you can sunbathe in style with waiter service. Trams and buses are closeby, and for 1 Euro you can travel to medieval hilltop villages, such as St Paul de Vence and Eze, or visit Antibes,Cannes, Monaco. By train you can quickly be in Italy. Ferries from nearby Nice Port take you along the Mediterranean coast to St Tropez or across to Corsica.

Ski: A number of resorts are accessible from Nice by car, train and bus. A dedicated ski bus makes it easy to reach resorts such as Auron, Valberg and Isola 2000 (approx. one and a half hours).
