Our bright newly renovated apartment is on the second floor of an historic palace or nobleman's grand house. Its high windows with carved lintels look out on to two of the most desirable streets in Nice old town. To one side is the beautiful baroque church of St Rita, with its pretty tiled belfry; opposite is a friendly, quirky, very Nicoise pavement cafe where you can sit and watch the world go by or access the internet. Try the great restaurants on your doorstep or buy fresh market produce, stroll to the 'caves' for excellent, reasonably priced wines - then cook in our large, well stocked kitchen with its hand painted Italian tiles. The bedroom has original tomette tiles and two double beds: one has a beautiful antique carved headboard and the other occupies the mezzanine level. The living room has a large antique mirror, chandelier, swivel armchair and an L-shaped convertible corner sofa. Open the shutters and let the sun shine in on both sides of our lovely Nicoise Apartment.
Step out of the building's ancient doorway (type 'les portes medievales rue benoit bunico' into your browser if you are interested) and you are instantly in the city's historic heart, very much alive with the everyday comings and goings of its inhabitants, cafe culture, open air restaurants and artistic high spots. If you want to feel at the centre of things, lean out of the window and see the life of the old quarter at first hand, this is the place for you. The old town is probably not the place for an early night or for a quiet getaway. Very few people are not captivated by its bohemian charm.
