Casa di Luisa is an elegant flat situated in down town Verona, a pretty Roman town celebrated by Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. Casa di Luisa offers the convenience of a self-catering accommodation and the advantages of a location rich in culture, history and natural beauty. From Casa di Luisa visitors can comfortably explore the town centre and the surrounding beautiful hills. Lake Garda, the biggest in Italy, is also a short drive away. Verona is centrally located making it a convenient base to explore nearby cities like Venice or Milan on day trips. Several important events occur in the area, like the summer Opera season in Verona, held in the outstanding 2000-year-old Roman amphitheatre, or open air concerts and street performances.
Verona: Verona is one of the main tourist destinations in northern Italy, thanks to its artistic heritage, several annual fairs, shows, and operas, such as the lyrical season in the Arena, the ancient amphitheatre built by the Romans. The city has been awarded world heritage site status by UNESCO because of its urban structure and architecture. Its Roman amphitheatre, the Arena, was completed around 30 AD, and is the third largest in Italy, after Rome's Colosseum and the arena at Capua. In Roman times it could seat some 25,000 spectators in its 44 tiers of marble seats; the Arena is still used today (sitting approximately 15,000 people) for many music events, including opera, jazz, rock and classical music. There is also a variety of other Roman monuments to be found in the town, such as the Roman theatre of Verona, which hosts every June the 'Verona Jazz Festival' thanks to its perfect acoustics.
Lake Garda: Lake Garda is the biggest lake in Italy and is only a short drive from Casa di Luisa. The lake offers a variety of landscapes, from the southern beaches to steep mountain slopes in the North. Many possible activities include hiking, swimming, wind-surfing, sailing, etc.

Fabulous Verona for Epiphany - From the moment we left the train station we knew we were going to have an incredible stay in Verona. A massive tree in white lights greeted us on our drive to the apartment; so nice as Americans to see Christmas publicly celebrated with no remorse. Passing through the walled entrance to historic Verona and viewing The Arena, a smaller version of The Coliseum, brought images of Ancient Romans building and living life in this City. Luisa's apartment is exactly as described and viewed; a truly lovely spot for coming home to after sightseeing or just relaxing and reading a book while gazing at the River Adige. Luisa was most helpful with all our crazy questions throughout the week. Bring your money for shopping which is exceptional and definitely go across the river to dine; Redentore was delicious and affordable! There were so many restaurants we did not get to enjoy so we will have to return for another stay. We did 'dine in' on several occasions and the kitchen was appointed adequately; could use a sharp knife. Grocery stores are available but hidden; go down Via Roma and you will find Pam and several others. The Burning of the Witch for Epiphany was an amazing experience and one not planned for. Delicious gelato, cappuccinos at Cafes, superbly priced house wines in carafes, friendly Veronians; too many experiences to mention. We will most assuredly return.....Anne and Calvin
