In fact Bono has often been seen taking a stroll through the village or having a pint in Finnegans! Just 7 minutes walk brings you to the pretty Sandycove beach, the Forty Foot bathing area and the James Joyce Tower. Don’t forget to stop in at Bullock Harbour where you can buy fresh lobsters and rent a boat there or at Coliemore Harbour, Dalkey and take a trip out to Dalkey Island. At certain times of the year you will be sure to see some seals around Bullock Harbour and off Dun Laoghaire piers.

About Sharon Plunkett

I have lived in Glenageary / Sandycove for the last 15 years and work in my own business. Originally from the seaside town of Bray just further along the coast I actually attended the private girls school almost across from this property, little did I know I would live so close one day!

I just love the accessibility the property affords to both the city centre and quaint and picturesque Dalkey. The proximity to restaurants, leisure facilities and even simple walks along the sea make it the best location in the world!

It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, pantry, dining room, living room, conservatory, utility room, large entertainment room, gardens front and rear and sunny patio. It is ideally situated for walking to the beach, several villages and a main town, has spectacular views over the whole of Dublin Bay and is extremely well equipped to a very high standard. It a stones throw to a convenience store which is open until 10pm and there are two takeaways across the road also – ideal if you don’t feel like cooking on holidays! As it’s a family home it has everything you could need to make your vacation just perfect.

This bright, beautifully decorated and airy modern home is a super base for walks to explore the pretty village of Dalkey a gourmet and literary Mecca,and home to film stars, artists, famous writers and members of U2.Just 7 minutes walk brings you to the pretty sandycove beach, the Forty Foot bathing areaand the James Joyce Tower. Everywhere from Dun Laoghaire (the port connecting to Holyhead, UK) along to Dalkey has a myriad of fantastic eateries, superb fish restaurants, bistros, cafes, wine bistros (don’t miss Wine 64!) Cavistons famous food emporium and excellent pubs. Dun Laoghaire has two piers that are a must for a walk and it is also a busy town with shops, hairdressers, and all that makes a it a lively and bustling town. A must is the farmers market on a Sunday in the Peoples Park!

The home is ideally located with 1 minutes walk to a convenience store, 2 takeaways (Indian and dominos), and pharmacy. There are buses that pass right outside the house that go into Dublin’s centre.

Just 10 minute drive will take you to the garden of Wicklow, Powerscourt Estate (and Golf Course) and Waterfall is not to be missed and there are fantastic walks around the Wicklow Way and Glendalough.

Dublin City has a host of attractions such as the Guinness Store House, The Book of Kells, Trinity College, St Stephens Green, the National Museum, Dublinia, Dublin Zoo and the Leprechaun museum!

Other attractions in the area include Marley Park, Johnnie Foxs pub (famous for and its traditional Irish food and music), Airfield House which has a childrens Zoo, Killiney hill and a must is a stroll around the Vico area of Killiney, just 20 minutes walk and often likened to Sorrento, Italy! Just 10 minutes away is Leopardstown race course which has regular meets and summer evening racing.

  • Booking Notes:
    A 50% booking deposit is required to confirm reservation, with the balance payable 8 weeks before your stay begins. Prices quoted are for 7 persons. A €300 security deposit (paid prior to arrival) will be returned 24 hours after house inspection. Bookings are weekly with other times by arrangement. Payment by bank transfer however, PayPal or credit card (via PayPal) is acceptable net of fees (3% surcharge).
