The house is located on the shores of the lake, from the windows you can enjoy a panoramic view and you can enjoy the sunset. Fully furnished and equipped with major appliances. E 'on three levels. The rooms are on the upper floors. Large kitchen, living room with oval table and 6 seats sofa. Large bathroom with shower. Two balconies and a storage space for suitcases. There is no garden. The parking area is at 100m. The center of Varenna is about 1 km Grocery store and bakery 50m. E 'reachable by car, train and taxi or ferry. Beach just a few meters from the house. Possibility of excursions by boat or ferry to Bellagio, Menaggio and Como. Day trips to Milan by train. Visits to the gardens of Villa Cypress, Villa Monastero or the castle of Vezio. A few km you will find Villa Carlotta, Villa Balbianello, the Ravine of Bellano, the Abbey of Piona, the museum of Moto Guzzi and Fort Fuentes.
Car: recommended

The house overlooks the lake and offers easy access to the shore. Possibility of landing on the shore or pier located 100 m. A 50 m grocery store, bar, restaurant and parking. 5 beds. Great location for surfers. Main railway station 2km. Secondary station at 200m. Rental boats or speedboats. Internet point in the center of Varenna and wi-fi.

We Were Happy Here

I agree with all the previous statements: huge house with spacious spotless rooms and loads of wardrobes, balconies (and windows) with stunning view of the lake just 40 yards away, all the conveniences nearby.
Let my say couple words about Franco himself. Our cell phones didn't work for us this year so Franco had to make couple trips to check if we needed anything and to report on favor I needed him to do for me. Finally, when he gave us ride back to the train station he asked us a question "Were you happy here?". Our friend from Germany was crying - she didn't want to leave Varenna.
Do I need to add anything? Would I stay at Franco's villa again? In a heartbeat, any time we are near Milan.

Fantastic stay in Varenna

Had a fantastic time in Varenna, and really enjoyed our stay at this stunning house. Fantastic views of the Lake, as the house is right on the shingle beach, which made it very easy to swim & play in the lake.
The house is fantastic, with everything you culd possibly need to live there, let alone stay for a week. There is even a washing machine which came in very handy. Everything about the house was spotlessy clean & very well maintained by Franco.There are 2 balconies, one that goes along from the kitchen to the living room, and a smaller one in the main bedroom. Lovely for enjoying a glass or 2 of wine on an evening.
There are loads of wardrobes & drawers in the bedrooms, so no need to keep clothes in the case as you do in alot of places.Very comfy beds, and stunning views from every bedroom.
The house is about a 10 minute walk ( with stunning views ) away from Varenna.No need for taxi.s, as the walk is so stunning.
I can honestly say I could not fault this lovely house, it was fantastico, and I want to stay again some time.
Highly recommended to anyone.!!!!!!!

Fantastic Place to stay

Well I would just like to share our experience with you all. We recently returned from a trip to Varenna, where we got married at the Villa Cipressi, and stayed just outside in Fiumelatte for the first few days before my family arrived, and then they would take the house over, it was absolutely great and only 10 minute walk into the centre of Varenna, I actually quite enjoyed the walk as the views of the lake were amazing. Frank the owner was so very helpful, he gave us lots of useful information before departure, and even collected us from the train station. The house was very spacious and clean, and had the most amazing views from every room in the house! Frank had arranged for a cot for the baby and a highchair too, and to be honest we didn't need for anything, everything you could possibly need was available. It was great to be able to step out of the house onto the little beach directly below where we swam in the lake, and there was a great little bakery/shop directly opposite where we bought all the essentials.

To sum it up in a few words, we would definately stay again, nice, comfortable house in a fantastic location, would recommend to anyone, I'd move in tomorrow

Beautiful Home Right on the Lake

The pictures don't do this house justice! It is located right on the water and you can hear the wave lapping against shore when the windows are open. Our children enjoyed playing at the house's pebble beach right down the stairs outside. The home was very large by vacation rental standards and afforded us all separate bedrooms for us and two children. The additional bed in one of the children's rooms could have been used for a 5th person as well. The kitchen was fully stocked with every kind of cooking item you might need. Best of all was that the property was impeccably maintained.

On arrival Franco met us and demonstrated all of the features of the home as well as showed gave us a generorously stocked array of tourist information for the region.

As mentioned in other reviews there was a small store/butcher/bakery nearly accross the street with access to anything you might need for daily living. Varenna was a short 5 minute drive north. Parking was easily available in central Varenna at a parking garage, wlthough there was free parking along the streets if you could find a spot as well. Parking at the residence was suitable for one car, right in front of the door.

The location was perfect for us as it allowed us easy access to all of the region and the views from the property onto Lake Como were first rate. I would easily recommend this to home to anyone.

Great Holiday Home

The description of the house the house is good but the photos don't do it justice. The house has spacious rooms, is clean and very comfortable. The views from all the rooms are lovely, it was great to wake up, look out the window and see the lake. The balcony got the sun from about 2 o'clock until the evening and it was nice to relax there and have the heat of the sun. I would defiantly recommend this house to friends.

The owner, Franco was very helpful. He showed us around the house when we got there and gave us good advice about the trains, e.g. the train tickets to Milan can't be bought at the train station, advice on good restaurants and what to go see. The house had some leaflets on things to do in the area.

The house has a restaurant and a grocery shop across the road, and its a nice quiet residential area. The beach behind the property is small but we only saw 4 people on it for the 6 days we stayed there.

It is about a 20 minute walk into Varenna town, which was welcome after eating all that lovely food in the good restaurants in Varenna.

There is a lot to do in and around Varenna. We didn't have a car but there was enough to keep us going for the 6 days. The ferry from Varenna goes regularly to different towns on the lake. Bellagio, Mennago are only 5/10 minutes on the ferry. We didn't go too further afield but there are other towns that can be visited too. And there are many walks to do. I'd like to have done a bit more walking because the scenery is lovely. Varenna has a tourist office that gives all the information on walks in the area and near other towns.

All in all we had a lovely holiday and the house and Francos hospitality played a big part in that.
