Osborne House is a magnificent 300 year old Cornish town house which, in the 1800s, was originally a the home of a wealthy merchant. During the last century is was a sweet shop and more recently a thriving restaurant. Today it is a fully restored family home, retaining many original features including wooden beams - one of which is reputed to have come from the defeated Spanish Armada. The house is set in the heart of East Looe - ideally situated yards from the sandy beach, historic harbour, cafes and restaurants. This coastal location in South-East Cornwall is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is a perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape from the urban hustle & bustle. The house sleeps up to 12 and is ideal for family holidays, birthday parties, group or reunions.

In 2011 Osborne House retained its five star ranking from Visit Britain and won a gold award for outstanding quality and cleanliness. Probably the finest listed house in Looe. Parking for 2 cars.

We have stayed in Looe several times but never stayed in the town - what a fantastic find Osborne House is. We are a family of 9 ranging from big kids (30 somethings) to even bigger kids (60 somethings). Not sure who had more fun playing table football or who was worse at table tennis but we had such a laugh playing both. The house is in such a perfect position and very well equipped. The front door takes a bit of getting used to when locking it but we soon got the hang of the jiggle.



Sally (the housekeeper) met us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful and we really appreciated the house being ready for us earlier than the check-in time.



Looe is a fantastic place with a gorgeous beach, lovely town and lots of places to eat - recommend The Sail Loft, Smugglers Cott & Kitchenside. We went on the glass bottomed boat and it was amazing to see the seals in the ocean. Had a magical holiday with an amazing family in a beautiful house. Another year where fantastic memories were made. Thank-you.

A fantastic family holiday cottage

Osborne House is fantastic for a family base. Right in the middle of East Looe, close to the beach and great places to eat. The accommodation standard is top class. There is plenty of room for a couple of families and it's a real home from home in terms of equipment. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic stay at the Osborne House!

Travelling to Cornwall for the first time, we spent the Easter weekend at the Osborne House. Located right in the middle of the beautiful town of Looe, it was a perfect base for us as we went exploring the surroundings. The house itself is absolutely beautiful, with all the facilities in perfect working order. It's also very spacious, and should easily accommodate a much larger group then us (we were 4 adults and 3 children). Everything was very well maintained and perfectly clean!

The kitchen and the dining area is huge, but still very charming. As the rest of the house it is very well equipped and everything is very well maintained.

We travelled around in Cornwall to see as many sights as possible, but to be honest, I wish we would have spent a bit more time in Looe itself. The town is very charming, with great pubs, restaurants and a beautiful beach. And with the location of the Osborne House, right in the middle of town, everything is just a minutes walk away! We will definitely come back here and cover what we missed the first time. And we highly recommend the Osborne House as a perfect place to stay!

What a fabulous place to have a holiday.... and invite friends or family to enjoy it with you.
We had a truly lovely time at Osborne - so close to Looe beach, the shops, the varied restaurants (or take-aways), quayside, crab fishing - that we were spoilt for choice on what to do next. Everything we wanted was close at hand, we just had to wander down a quaint, narrow street. We didn't drive the car from the moment we arrived until we left. To be able to do that on a holiday, yet still encounter peacefulness was a rare treat.
The house is wonderful with blissfully comfortable beds, attractive bedrooms, ensuites and the best kitchen and dining table we've encountered in a larger holiday house. It seemed to be better equipped than our own - certainly more appealing!
When we had a problem, we phoned Pete the owner, who arranged for a friendly face to come round and remedy the problem quickly and efficiently.
Can't wait to revisit. A wonderful holiday house in a fantastic location.
