Osborne House is a magnificent 300 year old Cornish town house which, in the 1800s, was originally a the home of a wealthy merchant. During the last century is was a sweet shop and more recently a thriving restaurant. Today it is a fully restored family home, retaining many original features including wooden beams - one of which is reputed to have come from the defeated Spanish Armada. The house is set in the heart of East Looe - ideally situated yards from the sandy beach, historic harbour, cafes and restaurants. This coastal location in South-East Cornwall is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is a perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape from the urban hustle & bustle. The house sleeps up to 12 and is ideal for family holidays, birthday parties, group or reunions.

In 2011 Osborne House retained its five star ranking from Visit Britain and won a gold award for outstanding quality and cleanliness. Probably the finest listed house in Looe. Parking for 2 cars.

A Lovely Place to Stay!

A Lovely place to stay! Beds really comfortable & kitchen very well equipped - brilliant knives!! We got used to the seagulls after the first morning. Table football was a really big hit with the men - even if the girls gave them a close match!.....We have had a great holiday at Osborne House and would not hesitate to recommend it.

PS. The Butchers in West Looe - great steaks!

What Lovely Memories!

We have had such a wonderful, restful time here in Looe. The house is spectacular and the bedrooms so comfortable & cosy. The seagulls are not that bad!!

My husband proposed to me 22 years ago in the lounge at Osborne House when it was a little restaurant and hotel. We came back and stayed at Osborne house for our honeymoon a year later!! Now 21 years later we came back and stayed in this lovely house! What lovely memories!

Our Fifth Year Running At Osborne House

After weeks of rain at home, we packed our wellies, fleeces and lots of board games...which all stayed in the case as we had a heatwave. On the beach everyday, up to 28c - Bliss! Osborne House is our second home and we're already planning the 6th stay. We can thoroughly recommend 'Trawlers', we went for my son's 11th birthday - lovely meal. Also, for a more adult evening the 'Squid Ink' was really special and Warren and Catherin were lovely hosts. It was nice to see a knife sharpener in the kitchen this time. Thank-you, Thank-you.....see you next year!

What a fabulous place to have a holiday.... and invite friends or family to enjoy it with you.
We had a truly lovely time at Osborne - so close to Looe beach, the shops, the varied restaurants (or take-aways), quayside, crab fishing - that we were spoilt for choice on what to do next. Everything we wanted was close at hand, we just had to wander down a quaint, narrow street. We didn't drive the car from the moment we arrived until we left. To be able to do that on a holiday, yet still encounter peacefulness was a rare treat.
The house is wonderful with blissfully comfortable beds, attractive bedrooms, ensuites and the best kitchen and dining table we've encountered in a larger holiday house. It seemed to be better equipped than our own - certainly more appealing!
When we had a problem, we phoned Pete the owner, who arranged for a friendly face to come round and remedy the problem quickly and efficiently.
Can't wait to revisit. A wonderful holiday house in a fantastic location.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Great House - Fantastic Location

What a wonderful house in a wonderful location - close to to everything yet very peaceful. The house is in the centre of East Looe's medieval old town amongst the quaint narrow streets. Looe's family freindly beach was at the end of the street, restaurants and cafes and the harbour a couple of minutes away.

The house itself is beautiful and very tastefully deorated with a nautical theme throughout. We found it to be very clean and very well equipped with a fantastic kitchen and dining area - as you might expect for an old restaurant. All rooms were very comfortable with really good quality linens and towels. The bunk room was great for children as was the twin room while adults can enjoy the double rooms (all ensuite).

The local area is beautiful with plenty of lovely walks - both inland and along to coast. Lots of boat trips too as well as exploring rock pools or just relaxing on the beach. We ventured out of the town once and made a very worthwhile trip to neighbouring Polperro. We enjoyed a number of meals out - on the whole all good quality, good portions and reasonably priced. The Mexican restaurant was particularly good and the best: Daisy cafe (eveyone says so too). For eating in there are a couple of food shops in the town providing everything a family needs.

Can't recommend this place highly enough.
