It comprises a living area with fitted kitchen; 2 double rooms; 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bathrooms; large terraces and balconies outside. Immerse yourself in Sicilian lifestyle: help yourself to fresh fruit from our garden; ramble to the local spring to taste fresh mountain water and buy fresh vegetables from the neighbouring farms; enjoy poolside barbecue with amazing views of Mount Etna, the Agira Mountain with its towering Norman castle and an unbroken view over the River Salso Valley.
Located in the heart of Sicily, the villa is perfect for cycling, walking and fishing enthusiasts. 10 minutes from Agira motorway exit, it is ideally placed for exploring all corners of the island.
Just back from a wonderful week at your house. I must say the house is an ideal layout for two families sharing.
Our children loved exploring the garden and were thrilled to discover the cave.
Will definitely return.
We had the pleasure of staying at the end of August. This is a relatively newly built house with all the mod cons. Spotlessly clean and really well appointed. The property is located just Approx. 2KM from the town of Agria with its Outstanding Norman Castle (well worth a visit). The house offers a panoramic view across the valley with a clear view of Mt Etna in the distance.
Agria is really well located for travelling both East and West across the Island with loads of interesting towns and villages within easy distance. it was our intention to travel more however we were so enchanted with the house and pool that we tended to just chill and relax by the pool. The house was really comfortable at night and although the weather was really warm the beautiful gentle breeze across the valley kept a real comfortable temperature.
the local town is really friendly and lots of helpful people fantastic place to sit and 'people watch' wonderful food in a variety of local restaurants and cafe's with really excellent value for money. selection of local Supermarkets where your eyes are assaulted with the wonderful display of fruit and veg. An excellent market on Monday mornings is a must.
The house and location exceeded our expectations by a considerable margin and i can heartily recommend it for a truly memorable holiday.
10 out of 10
From the house each morning, I had the most amazing view of Agira parched gracefully on the hillside glowing magically. To the left is the vista of the towering Mount Enta in all its glory. Just the most beautiful scenery without leaving the bedroom!
From relaxing by the pool to visiting the local weekly market to taste the local produce, the immediate vicinity provides lots to do and explore daily. Feeling a little more adventurous, within a short drive you are on stunning beaches, visiting historic sites or experiencing a little retail therapy in an outlet mall.
As for the property itself. The outdoor dining patio is fantastic and allows you to experience the balmy Sicilian evenings. The house is very spacious, immaculate and has everything you need to enjoy your holiday. I’ve no hesitation recommending this property. It’s one of those places you find yourself planning your next visit as you are heading back to the airport to go home.
Beautiful villa in an amazing area with stunning views.
Traveling with two other couples, in our 50's and really cannot believe how wonderful the area, the people and the prices are compared to the main tourist area's.
A fantastic villa from which to explore real Sicily and perfect for the gourmet to taste the local cuisine in a different restaurant every night.
We stayed at this villa with a group of friends and I must say it was among the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. It is set among the beautifully ruggid countryside of Sicily. It is a five minute drive away from the Norman town of Agira, which means that it is secluded enough to have complete privacy during the day, and yet it within a few minutes reach of the town for evening activities and people watching! Agira is a charming town in which the visitor will really take in the authentic Sicilian experience. Service in the restaurants and bars is second to none. Every local person we came across were extremely accomadating and friendly. Travelling further afield by car, you can visit Taormina, Catania, Siracusa to name but a few. each of them well deserve a day trip at the least. The property itself was spotless and is obviously very well cared for and maintained. the manager of the property couldnt be more helpful when asked about reccommendations for restaurants, day trips etc. They are also full of interesting local knowledge. We had wonderful days by the pool in the glorious Sicilian heat with a view of beautiful Agira.
Beautiful well-built house with fantastic views of the local town, countryside and Mount Etna. Description or photos do not do it justice. The house was clean and well-maintained with great facilities including a washing machine and a dishwasher. It is also very functional and spacious with a living area upstairs and downstairs, two large double bedrooms, two twin-rooms and two further fold-out beds. The owner provided great customer service responding to any queries I had before our arrival. In addition a relative of the owner met us on our arrival with the keys and showed us around the house and how to operate the pool. Although only a 5 minute drive from the local town, the house is in a very private and peaceful location and we spent our days relaxing at the pool while taking in the fantastic panorama as the children played in the pool. The town of Agira is very picturesque and while enjoying an ice cream on the main square during the day or a pizza at night we gained a great insight into Sicilian everyday life. Each time we were in the main square, we appeared to be the only tourists and were shown great hospitality by those working in the bars and cafes. There is also a market on a Monday morning in Agira which is an experience in itself! I would definitely recommend this villa to any family or group of friends looking for an experience of the Mediterranean lifestyle!
Located in the centre of Sicily Agira itself is a historical town that features many interesting sites to visit, such as: various period churches; a park that hosts a colourful Monday morning market; a central square where locals go for their evening stroll or to enjoy a pizza, ice cream or one of the traditional pastries, the ‘cassatella’. You can travel up the narrow cobble locked streets to the old part of the town. Visit the remains of the castle dominating the valley below and offering a 360° view over the Pozzillo Lake and Mount Etna. Nearby is the Canadian War Cemetery, where the victims of the World War II Agira battle are buried. Also worth a visit is the brand new Sicilia Fashion Village, an outlet with over 120 boutiques.
