Far away from the hustle of every day life is a peaceful retreat located on Soliman Bay between Akumal and Tulum, Mexico. With white sand, blue green water, and palm trees you are as far from the maddening crowd as you can get. This vacation spot has it all. Cozy hammocks great for catching up on your reading, fabulous water adventures just outside your door, (snorkeling, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, you name it) or delve into a past that is thousands of years old, with the local Mayan ruins. Completed in December, 2000, Tropical Evergreens' casa grande and casita are decorated with exquisite local art and pottery. The native plants offer privacy from the neighbors as well as great cover for birds. There is nothing like waking up in the morning amidst the lush greenery of the jungle, with the quiet murmur of the ocean in the background.
The Casa Grande is located beachfront in the center of Soliman Bay, Tulum, Q Roo, Mexico. It is a beautiful beach house with a split-level first floor. The open palapa roof is 2 1/2 stories high. On the first floor, a king-size bedroom w/1/2 bath; full bathroom; large open space living-dining-kitchen area with large table seating 6-10. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrig, microwave, coffee maker/grinder, blender, all amenities. Drinking water provided. Crib and highchair available upon request. The Welcome Book in the Casa Grande will provide you with information about the house and the area. Please take time to read through it.
In the loft are two queen bedrooms and a small sitting area with futon and DVD player (no TV service, but a large library of DVDs), reading library, board and card games. The upstairs bedrooms are separated by a full bath w/shower. A desk area for your computer w/ high speed internet is in the foyer area upstairs.
There is wireless internet throughout the property. It is recommended you request international phone service from your cell service provider in advance for the time you are there.
In the front of the Casa Grande, the overhanging palapa porch provides shade for an outdoor table, chairs and large hammock. There is an outside grill with piped water, gas and lights. Swimming, snorkeling and kayaking are just 20 feet out to the beach, there are 2 large palapas with beach chairs and hammocks for a day on the bay. There are two double kayaks and two single kayaks, life vests and snorkel vests available. Bring your own snorkel gear. There is a natural ocean pool in front of TE, waist deep, sandy bottom, perfect for a day of swimming, snorkeling, sunning, or just relaxing! Coffee or tea on the beach at sunrise... a must!
Combine with the Casita guest house for your entire family reunion, max 10 people and one child (on the futon) with the rental of both houses. Christmas and New Years weeks book both houses together.
The caretakers Vicente and Mari live on the property. They are there to greet you, give you keys, show you about the property. They clean every morning, do dishes, change the linens every third day, rake the beach, keep the garden and grounds, and are there for your comfort and convenience. Please let them know if you have any questions, or if anything needs their attention.
The Casita guest house at Tropical Evergreens is behind the Casa Grande, separated by a green jungle garden makes both houses very private. The Casita has a full living room, fully equipped kitchen with bar eating area for 4; TV for viewing DVDs, a large library of DVDs provided. Queen bed and full bathroom downstairs. Exterior stairs outside go up to the second level, a large deck with chairs and hammock; bedroom with two twin beds and full bath upstairs. Both floors of the Casita are air-conditioned. The Casita also has an outside grill with water and lights. High speed internet is available throughout the entire property.
Rent a car at the airport and drive 61 miles (101 km) down Highway 307. Past Xel-Ha and 7 km from Hidden Worlds, will be the "Retorno" to the Soliman Bay beach road. It is now a new, 4 lane, divided highway all the way to Tulum, with overpasses at all the main towns. Detailed driving instructions and maps available with reservation. There is now 24 hour security on Soliman Bay, only one entrance at the Security Station.
