Situated between the medieval village of Les Arcs sur Argens and the Chapelle Sainte Roseline, Domaine de la Baume is an elegant “Maison Maitre” set in a beautiful garden park with mature trees and a large swimming pool.
The grounds (approx. 10 000 sq m) are gated, fenced and back onto vineyards. In the distance they overlook the hills of the forêt des Maures to the south and the Rocher de Roquebrunne to the south east.
The house benefits from elegant large rooms with high ceilings and offers a spacious and relaxing atmosphere for any size family. The property has recently been restored keeping many of the original features, but with the addition of new bathrooms and a new kitchen. The ground floor includes a double sitting room with corniced ceilings (approx. 100 sq m), a formal dining room, a fully equipped 40 sq m eat in kitchen / breakfast room, with granite tops and a natural stone floor, a cloakroom and a large entrance hall with a wide stone staircase leading to the first floor.
The first floor has a long corridor (natural stone floor) with 5 double bedrooms and 3 modern bathrooms with large walk in showers. All 3 bathrooms are new and built with natural limestone and modern bathroom furniture.
The bedrooms in the house are generously proportioned and four bedrooms have a double bed as standard and two of these bedrooms have an additional single bed. The fifth bedroom has a large play-space (50 sq m), 2 single beds and a bunk bed, ideal for children, (4 beds in total). Total number of people sleeping is 14.
The garden offers a large area of clear lawn space for children, a large trampoline, a ping pong table and a large private swimming pool. The garden also benefits from many mature trees that provide an extremely pleasant calm.
There are several options for eating outside. The pool has a large terrace for deckchairs and an adjoining raised terrace with a table and chairs for 12 people, ideal for lunch/barbecues. We also have a table in front of the house which can be moved in the garden where you may wish to enjoy a barbecue, breakfast, lunch, etc ...
There are, also, a vast variety of nearby facilities including tennis courts, an outside basket ball court, riding stables, climbing, golf & Spa, sailing...
Many picturesque walks including Roquebrune and Parc Naturel Regional du Verdon.
Nearby beach towns include Sainte Maxime, St Tropez, Sainte Aygulf, Frejus.
The nearest airports are Nice (40Km), Toulon (40Km) and an airport at Cannes-Mandelieu.
In addition, we also offer a modern 50 ft sailing boat (with skipper) for daily charters, from Ste Maxime.
Sometimes you fear things are too good to be true, In this instance the property was even better than expected. A very warm welcome, wonderful house (seems such an inadequate term for the property), the expansive yet secure grounds, the pool and the location at Les Arcs were brilliant for our extended family holiday. Everybody had a wonderful time.
I would strongly recommend this to all our friends and would love the opportunity to return.
We have had a wonderful time in this lovely tranquil Mansion. The mansion, pool, huge park with beautiful landscape were magnifique, very spacious even better than the pictures or description on the website! The property was cleaned and well maintained. We were warmly received by Nicholas and Maria, our hosts. They made us feel so welcome. We can't tell you how much we have enjoyed the trip on your beautiful sailing boat, and the Five Stars Meal that Maria had prepared for all of us! You all are so caring and generous to us. It has truly been a pleasure meeting you and your sons. My son is still keeping in touch with your boys!
If you like to eat seafood, this place is a gem. There is a Hyper U (grocery superstore) nearby, less than 5min drive with fresh seafood!
You made our Family reunion an Unforgettable time in your lovely "Little Versailles"! That was what my Dad called as soon as we drove on your driveway. We will definitely come back! The N & N Families from VA, USA and Paris, France.
We had a wonderful week! We went two families with 5 young children, everybody had plenty of space both inside and outside. The house is really lovely and very easy to live in, and the garden is beautiful. The kids had the best of time on the trampoline, and both adults and children enjoyed the pool (very long for good swimming, and not too deep for the safety of the kids).
The owner and his family have been very friendly. All this, in a charming area (les arcs sur argens a wonderful medieval town, less tthan 1h drive to saint tropez and the beaches of pampelonne...).
We hope to come back another year!
Nous avons passé un séjour fantastique dans cette maison! Nous étions deux familles avec cinq enfants jeunes, chacun a pu profiter de l'espace (gigantesque..) à la fois de la maison et du parc.
La maison, qui reste fraiche même en pleine canicule, a beaucoup de charme et est très facile à vivre. Le jardin est également très agréable, ombragé, avec une piscine parfaite pour nager mais aussi pour la sécurité des enfants (ils ont pied partout, puisqu'elle fait environ 1m10 de profondeur partout - impossible de plonger cependant). Les enfants ont adoré le très grand trampoline, et se cacher dans le parc. Il y a même une piste de skateboard pour les plus grands.
Beaucoup de très jolies visites aux alentours (les arcs sur argens, tourtour, l'abbaye du Thoronet...), et les plages de pampelonne à Saint Tropez, à 1h de route (avec un bon gps...).
Sans oublier des propriétaires charmants et à l'écoute.
Bref, un très grand bonheur, que nous espérons renouveler une prochaine année.
