Situated on a private 97 acre estate of woodlands, gardens, meadows and parkland, five de-luxe courtyard cottages, three houses and an appartment have been created within the grounds. How I got lost and found in Inis Beg

Michaelob Dublin
Review Submitted: May 23, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2007
Nothing prepares you for the drive over the tight and narrow bridge onto Inis Beg - a magnificent and magical setting which at once says you are in for a treat.
My family (wife and a 7 and s 5 year old) got lost in the old world and every day was one of wonder whether it was walking around the woodland estate which borders the sea, or to watch the children spend time feeding the farm animals, to going for a swim in the indoor pool (a most welcome feature in Ireland), or to watching the kids play in the garden with the kids in the neighbouring cottages.
Inis Beg is a great base from which to explore Baltimore, Union Hall, Skib, etc and after a day on the road it is the most amazing feeling that for one week, you are driving back onto your own island.
The farm stocks a well nourished organic garden and from that we ate wholesomely and also loved the fresh eggs and the honey from the estate.
We found ourselves after a week and had to readjust to returning to the real world. Inis Beg is special and we plan to return again to sample and enjoy its magical charms. There is something for everybody in Inis Beg no matter your age but it’s always better if you look at a magical kingdom through the eyes of a child.

Review Submitted: May 20, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
WE VISITED INISHBEG FOR VALENTINES WEEKEND. WE STAYED IN ONE OF THE COURTYARD COTTAGES. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. EVERYTHING WAS SO WELL MAINTAINED AND SO CLEAN. THE KITCHEN HAD EVERYTHING IN IT. THERE WAS A LOG BURNER IN THE LIVING AREA AND ANY AMOUNT OF WOOD TO BURN IN IT. WE BROUGHT OUR TWO CHILDREN WITH US. THEY HAD A GREAT TIME IN THE SWIMMING POOL AND IT IS GREAT THAT YOU GET THE POOL ALL TO YOUR SELF. INCLUDED IN OUR RATE WAS TWO TRIPS TO DIFFERENT ISLANDS WE REALLY ENJOYED THE TRIPS. THE WALKS AROUND THE ESTATE WERE INCREDIABLE. I HAVE STAYED IN MANY HOTELS IN IRELAND AND I HAVE TO SAY THIS WEEKEND WAS THE MOST RELAXING ONE . AT THE MOMENT IM THINKING OF BOOKING THE BOAT HOUSE FOR A WEEK IN THE SUMMER, IT LOOKS FABULOUS SITTING RIGHT AT THE EDGE OF THE WATER. I HAVE TO BE HONEST THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I COULD COMPLAIN ABOUT. WELL DONE TO THE OWNERS AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. THANKS AGAIN AND WE WILL BE BACK!!!

Dream holiday in West Cork

The Fine Family Dublin Ireland
Review Submitted: May 19, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
In 2008 we decided to stay in Irelan for our summer holidays but we wanted peace and quiet for the adults and a pool to entertain the kids. We found it all on Inish Beg island. We never thought such a tranquil and beautiful palce existed in Ireland. The welcome from the owners,Paul and Georgina, was exceptional and will not be forgotten. We were allowed explore the Island at our own pace in total privacy. Best of all the kids loved it and had a wonderful time in the pool every day. The bee hives were a bit scary but worth it as the honey was fantastic. It was simply just great and we will definetely make a return trip.

Excellent facilities with a nice swimming pool. We went in the middle of winter and the house was warm and cosy. You can get fresh eggs and honey every morning. Skibbereen is only down the road for buying groceries. Loads of nice walks around the estate with otters, horses etc to watch. The staff were friendly and were on hand all weekend when needed.

Inish Beg

KHLew Fairfield, California, USA
Review Submitted: May 18, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
For our 35th anniversary, we decided--practically on the spur of the moment--to go to Ireland. We were very lucky to find the Inish Beg island estate where we spent the majority of our time in Ireland. Although we have visited wonderful and beautiful places on several continents, Inish Beg island is the most idyllic place we’ve seen by far.

We went to Inish Beg in mid-April, and found it an excellent time of year to experience the island and the western Cork region of Ireland. We never tired of the green hills parceled by yellow gorse and meandering rock walls, the ocean views, or the scenic country lanes.

Although we used our cottage at Inish Beg as our base while we traveled around the area, we could have been completely content to simply remain on the island and explore its varied natural environments. We loved the walks through the woodlands filled with moss-covered trees, wild flowers and lush ponds; along the river with the rolling hills beyond, where the view varied with the tides; through the orchard on its grassy pathways amid blossoming fruit trees; and past the sheep-filled meadow with its panoramic vistas.

We birdwatched from the bird blinds situated around the estate, relaxed in our private cottage garden, took a remarkable amount of photos, and savored the amazing calm and quiet of the island. When our time came to leave, we realized that many other enjoyable activities at Inish Beg would have to wait until our next trip.

Our gracious hosts welcomed us as if we were old friends. Our cottage was clean and bright and stocked with everything we could need during our week-long stay. This is definitely a place we highly recommend to both our friends and fellow wanderers.
