Charming cottage with a lovely garden set in a quiet residential street only a few minutes’ walk from the beach and the historic centre of Cascais. Close to the road to Guincho and a few minute’s drive from Quinta da Marinha (Golf Course, Health Club and Spa). Newly renovated and decorated by its owners for own use, the property has a wood-panelled ceiling and is set over two floors. It is tastefully furnished and combines comfort and relax with design and art deco antiques. Ground floor accommodation comprises a large living room with 'fall-into' sofas, a dining area with 8 seats and double doors to the garden, a reading room, a complete bathroom and a spacious and fully equipped kitchen with an ample lunch area which may also be used as playground for kids and includes a football table. The first floor has 3 luminous bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other 2 with twin-beds. The garden, with a nice terrace, is ideal for relaxing, kids playing and outdoor eating.

The cottage is located in a quiet and well maintained residential area in the centre of Cascais right next to the municipal gardens and the newly inaugurated House of Stories, a museum housed in a building designed by the renowned architect Eduardo Souto Moura and dedicated to Paula Rego. A few minutes’ walk will take you to Cascais beaches and to the historic centre with its many restaurants, pubs and shops. Or you can walk to the Marina or to Cascais Villa, one of the best Shopping Centres on this coast. The road to Guincho is also only a 10-min walk. This road has a cycle and jogging track used to pedal, run or walk all the way up to Guincho, the world famous beach. A 2min drive/15min walk on this road will take you to Casa da Guia with its marvellous sea views, restaurants and coffee shops set in the grounds of the old manor house with a range of stylish shops and boutiques. Within 5 min drive, Quinta da Marinha Golf and Oitavos Golf courses can be reached.

About Cascais and its surroundings : Situated close to the sea and traditionally a fishing village, Cascais is a charming, historic town with a nice beach and plenty to visit as well as restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. The world famous for surfing Guincho beach, which hosts the Windsurf World Championship League, is 10 km from Cascais. Cascais is also famous for the yachting club and race tracks, and, of course, the golf courses. It is close to Estoril, with the famous Casino and beautiful beaches. The romantic world heritage town of Sintra is only a 30 minutes drive away.

Golf information : Portugal is a golfer’s paradise. The golf courses of Oitavos, Quinta da Marinha, and Estoril are nearby. And three other golf courses, Penha Longa, Estoril, and Lisbon Sports Club are within 30min range.

Getting there and around : Cascais can be reached by car from Lisbon airport in 40 - 60 minutes, via the A5 motorway or the more scenic Marginal road along the estuary. Alternatively you can take an airport bus from Arrivals direct to Cascais Bus Station. There is a variety of local shops and restaurants within walking distance from the cottage. There is a bus service (BusCas) every seven minutes to the town centre and train station. Taxis are close by or can be ordered. We will be happy to provide further tourist and transports information on your contact or arrival.

We loved the villa and Cascais

We have really enjoyed staying in this villa in Cascais. The property is very well equipped, immaculate, spacious and comfortable. The owner was very friendly, helpful and accommodating - no request was too much trouble. It was a great place to stay with younger children as there was no clutter and the garden was fully enclosed, not to mention the toys, dvds and dressing-up we found there on our arrival. The only thing missing was a washing machine for longer visits.

The large municipal park was literally 2 minutes walk with lovely play equipment, peacocks and a cafe and the local (sandy) beach was just 10 minutes away (children's walking pace). The charming town had everything we needed and we managed quite happily with buses, trains and occasional taxis (which were very reasonably priced despite the poor exchange rate), although there was parking available at this property. We managed to visit Sintra by bus easily (from the bus station under Cascais Villa Shopping Centre) - it's worth getting a daytrip ticket for the hopper bus that takes you to all the tourist attractions when you get there (several are way out of the town).

I wholeheartedly recommend this great property and location for a relaxing and interesting holiday.

A very nice place to stay

The house is very well equipped, the area is very quiet and still very central. 7 minutes walk to the pedestrian shopping street in Cascais.
There are toys and games for children in the house, and a totally fenced in garden. Even our tiny chihuahua couldn´ t break out, and only the neighbours cat could break into the garden:)
All though you should be aware of the fact that dogs in the area are often taking a walk all by themselves, but they all seemed friendly.
The property was clean and well-maintained, and the owner was very helpful. There are several restaurants and shops in walking distance, and also beaches. So a car is not necessary if you live in the house.
Cascais is a lovely town, we have been there often on holiday, and this house is one of the best places to stay in our opinion.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

A lovely house in a great location

This is a lovely house with bags of character.

It is ideal for young families. There are lots of toys for children to play with and the garden is fully enclosed with no water features etc. to worry about.

The road is a dead end, so there are no problems parking and no passing traffic.

There is a lovely park close by and the centre of Cascais is a short and pleasant walk away.

Claudia is very friendly and helpful. We felt at home from the moment that we arrived and would definitely recommend this property to a friend.

A real charming cottage

The cottage is a really nice property, well located, well-maintained and with a special touch.
The owner provides an excellent service.
The cottage is located in Cascais, and is also close to Lisbon, Sintra and many other very nice places.

The most wonderful holiday

The cottage is very well located in walking distance from all the great things to experience in Cascais. The cottage was clean and ready for us at our arrival. The garden was very nice and just great if you have children going along.

The owner offered an excellent service, helping with luggage and all, and there was both babybed and stroller available at the cottage.

The town of Cascais is perfect for a relaxing - but not at all borring - holiday: great beaches, butiques and restaurants at all pricelevels.

We enjoyed going to Lissabon a few days during the holiday. It is very easy and takes only 30 minutes, and the station is only 5 minutes walk from the cottage. It is nice to get back to Cascais at the end of the day.

Also, do yourself the favour and visit the town of Sintra, you won't regret it.

Try some of the restaurant a little walk away from "downtown" in Cascais. They are a little cheaper and the food is just excellent - and the staff too, and you will meet the local citizens going out for dinner. You must try some of the fresh fish served everywhere.

We also fund, that one of the greatest thing about Portugal was the friendly people everywere, all ready to help and guide you.

It is definitely not the last time we are visiting Portugal, Lissabon and Cascais.
