About Cascais and its surroundings :
Situated close to the sea and traditionally a fishing village, Cascais is a charming, historic town with a nice beach and plenty to visit as well as restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. The world famous for surfing Guincho beach, which hosts the Windsurf World Championship League, is 10 km from Cascais.
Cascais is also famous for the yachting club and race tracks, and, of course, the golf courses. It is close to Estoril, with the famous Casino and beautiful beaches. The romantic world heritage town of Sintra is only a 30 minutes drive away.
Golf information :
Portugal is a golfer’s paradise. The golf courses of Oitavos, Quinta da Marinha, and Estoril are nearby. And three other golf courses, Penha Longa, Estoril, and Lisbon Sports Club are within 30min range.
Getting there and around :
Cascais can be reached by car from Lisbon airport in 40 - 60 minutes, via the A5 motorway or the more scenic Marginal road along the estuary. Alternatively you can take an airport bus from Arrivals direct to Cascais Bus Station. There is a variety of local shops and restaurants within walking distance from the cottage. There is a bus service (BusCas) every seven minutes to the town centre and train station. Taxis are close by or can be ordered.
