CHARMING COTTAGE IN THE CENTRE OF CASCAIS

Cascais Cottage Rental Photos and Description

1 Double bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 5/6

Charming cottage with a lovely garden set in a quiet residential street only a few minutes’ walk from the beach and the historic centre of Cascais. Close to the road to Guincho and a few minute’s drive from Quinta da Marinha (Golf Course, Health Club and Spa). Newly renovated and decorated by its owners for own use, the property has a wood-panelled ceiling and is set over two floors. It is tastefully furnished and combines comfort and relax with design and art deco antiques. Ground floor accommodation comprises a large living room with 'fall-into' sofas, a dining area with 8 seats and double doors to the garden, a reading room, a complete bathroom and a spacious and fully equipped kitchen with an ample lunch area which may also be used as playground for kids and includes a football table. The first floor has 3 luminous bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other 2 with twin-beds. The garden, with a nice terrace, is ideal for relaxing, kids playing and outdoor eating.

About Cascais and its surroundings : Situated close to the sea and traditionally a fishing village, Cascais is a charming, historic town with a nice beach and plenty to visit as well as restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. The world famous for surfing Guincho beach, which hosts the Windsurf World Championship League, is 10 km from Cascais.

Cascais is also famous for the yachting club and race tracks, and, of course, the golf courses. It is close to Estoril, with the famous Casino and beautiful beaches. The romantic world heritage town of Sintra is only a 30 minutes drive away.

Golf information : Portugal is a golfer’s paradise. The golf courses of Oitavos, Quinta da Marinha, and Estoril are nearby. And three other golf courses, Penha Longa, Estoril, and Lisbon Sports Club are within 30min range.

Getting there and around : Cascais can be reached by car from Lisbon airport in 40 - 60 minutes, via the A5 motorway or the more scenic Marginal road along the estuary. Alternatively you can take an airport bus from Arrivals direct to Cascais Bus Station. There is a variety of local shops and restaurants within walking distance from the cottage. There is a bus service (BusCas) every seven minutes to the town centre and train station. Taxis are close by or can be ordered.

We will be happy to provide further tourist and transports information on your contact or arrival.

WE LOVED THE VILLA AND CASCAIS

  • 5 of 5
We have really enjoyed staying in this villa in Cascais. The property is very well equipped, immaculate, spacious and comfortable. The owner was very friendly, helpful and accommodating - no request was too much trouble. It was a great place to stay with younger children as there was no clutter and the garden was fully enclosed, not to mention the toys, dvds and dressing-up we found there on our arrival. The only thing missing was a washing machine for longer visits.

The large municipal park was literally 2 minutes walk with lovely play equipment, peacocks and a cafe and the local (sandy) beach was just 10 minutes away (children's walking pace). The charming town had everything we needed and we managed quite happily with buses, trains and occasional taxis (which were very reasonably priced despite the poor exchange rate), although there was parking available at this property. We managed to visit Sintra by bus easily (from the bus station under Cascais Villa Shopping Centre) - it's worth getting a daytrip ticket for the hopper bus that takes you to all the tourist attractions when you get there (several are way out of the town).

I wholeheartedly recommend this great property and location for a relaxing and interesting holiday.

WE HAD A WONDERFUL WEEK IN CASCAIS!

  • 4 of 5
Very nice, well maintained, clean house with plenty of room and nice private garden and terrace in the sun and shade. The owner is very helpful and welcoming, speaks English very well. It's a real family home, with plenty of things for children to play with. The house was all we had hoped for.
There is so much to see in Cascais itself, and everything is of walking distance from the house. The town has a very nice vibe, people are helpful and friendly.
We would certainly recommend this cottage to a friend.

FANTASTIC STAY IN CASCAIS!

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay in Cascais. The cottage is very well situated at walking distance from all major attractions in Cascais and in a very quiet street. It is foreseen of all necessary comfort and it is quite spacious. The little garden is an undeniable plus compared to a classical holiday apartment, certainly when you have kids.

The owner, Claudia, is a truly nice person that really goes the extra mile for her guests. For us also very important when dealing with people you don't know: there are no surprises, except positive ones!

WE HAVE HAD A WONDERFUL STAY!

  • 5 of 5
We have stayed in this cottage for one week with our family (2 adults and 3 teenagers) and we have had a wonderful time. On arrival there were no issues at all, Claudia was very welcoming and the house was perfectly clean and nicely decorated. It immediately felt like home! There is a lot of space, which is very comfortable for 5 persons. We especially liked the garden with the grass, the olive tree and the fig tree. The house is situated in a quiet dead end street near the centre of Cascais and the beaches. Although it is a quiet location, you could here some noise from the nearby hippodrome in the weekend and from a music festival in the centre, but that was no big deal for us. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in Cascais and also a nice park and a few cultural sites, like the nearby Paula Rego museum. It was a nice walk from Cascais to Estoril. We also went two times to Lisbon by train, the railway station is only 15 minutes away. All in all, this charming cottage was the perfect place for us to stay, and we certainly will keep it in mind for a future visit to Portugal!

RELAXING AND PEACEFUL HOLIDAY

  • 5 of 5
Thanks to Claudia for a wonderful welcome to Cascais, and her excellent hospitality and attentiveness throughout our holiday. Her cottage was delightful, clean and comfortable and well equipped. The sheltered courtyard garden was a suntrap and a haven from the breeze that was blowing constantly whilst we were visiting . It is located in a lovely, peaceful residential area with very easy access to tranquil parks, the marina, beaches and the town centre. There is lots to do in Cascais, and a whole week could happily have been spent here without visiting anywhere else! There were 3 generations in our party and lots to keep us all occupied. We loved the park which which was a 2 minute walk away with its peacocks, ducks etc., the Museo de Mar was also good. There are some convenient mini markets and delicious bakeries (pastelaria) in the town centre and a good supermarket (Pingo doce) in the VillaCascais shopping centre. The only downside to our week was it was chilly at night so a few extra layers for the evening are recommended if visiting in May! We would highly recommend both Cascais and this cottage and hope to visit again in the future. Many thanks again to Claudia for helping make our stay so relaxing.

A WEEK IN CASCAIS

  • 5 of 5
We spent a lovely week in Claudia's house in Cascais.
Claudia was very professional and a pleasure to deal with.
We were attending a family wedding in Lisbon, the day after
the wedding quite a large number of the wedding party came
over to the house and they were all impressed at how comfortable
and homely the house was. Thank you Claudia. If we decide to
return to this lovely part of the world again we will be looking you
up.
