Notes: When you sit on the porch, you have before you a beautiful landscape of Extremadura, a kingdom of oaks centenarians. Directly opposite the south, you will see the valley on the banks of the Alcazabilla, a tributary of the Guadiana, and west of the creek the bolillero, which runs along the La Serrana from end to end. Without moving, you will see flying over the house and the fence that surrounds large birds such as cranes (autumn and winter), vultures (especially in hot weather), eagles, kites and buzzards, and observe closely smaller ones nest in the vicinity such as magpies, the hoopoes, magpies, or large flocks of goldfinches.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this lovely property. If you are looking to get away from modern city life, it is ideal. Everything you need is provided - fully equiped kitchen and bathroom and very comfortable beds. The house and grounds are in excellent repair and well maintained. The swimming pool is a reasonable size and a god-send in the 38-44 degree heat, and the owners come to vaccum and chlorinate it every 3 days. It is 2km from the nearest tarmac road and the track is not made up just general tyre marks through the trees - that was what we wanted! The nearest town, Montijo, has good butcher, fishmonger and supermarkets. There is also an excellent, english speaking Vet, necessary if you are taking your pet back into the UK and require the tapework treatment. 40mins drive away are Caceres and Merida both of which offer plenty of site seeing and excellent restaurants/ shopping. The owners are extremely pleasant and helpful. We would thoroughly recommend this property and we will be going back next year!
