Set in an exceptionally tranquil and serene UES block.
Being set 30 meters off 5th Avenue, on a street with very limited traffic (a car at very slow speed every few minutes during the day and completely movement-less at night) our house is EXCEPTIONALLY Quiet.
Moreover, it is only 30 steps to an Entrance to Central Park.
My husband and I live on the top three floors of the house (floors 4, 5 & 6).
The lower floors we have converted into completely separate & very private guest apartments (all independent entry) available for short term let year-round.

This property is listed by its Owners (a married couple with a young son) that live on the premises on the upper floors (4-6). The Owners have lived in The Townhouse for over 26 years and have been hosting guests on a short- and mid-term basis for the past 9 years.
3 full time staff also live with us.
The task of the staff is to take care of daily needs of our guests.
We do everything we can for our guests and ALWAYS at no additional charge. - We do not nickle and dime...
We sincerely want our guests to be as happy as possible with their overall experience of New York and not just the stay in our house. So we go out of the way to help... and do everything we can.
The owners are available at all times to help with any of the guests needs and are always there to welcome our guests.
There is always someone at the house to answer the door 24 hours a day.
So you can arrive after midnight or at 6 in the morning and we shall welcome you with a smile.
Nothing is too much of a hassle for us...
and we also arrange airport transportation.
Obviously this house is also our home and even though it is a BIG house we do feel the 'energy' of the guests that stay under the same roof with us...
Thus, we speak to all our guest before we confrim their stays. And we make sure to personally greet them when they arrive and we are also there to say goodbye...

Julia & Claudio, the owners, live full-time in the same Townhouse purchased this apartment in 1988
Finding a place to accommodate 4 kids ages 7-12, isn't always easy-especially in big cities. We were so lucky to find this great apartment on the Upper East Side! We stayed in the Grande White Loft which fit our needs perfectly, with 2 twin beds, a large, comfortable pull out sofa, and a king sized bed. The apartment was just as described in the ad-maybe even more beautiful, with lots of light and perfectly clean. I was spoiled by the daily laundry service-what a treat to have not only fresh linens, but clean clothes each day! We were able to park on the street for free for the entire time, thanks to Julia (the owner) saving us a spot right in front of the townhouse! My kids loved that we were steps away from Central Park, and my husband and I loved that we were so conveniently located to museums, restaurants, shopping and the subway! This was our first experience with VRBO and it exceeded our expectations. Everything went very smoothly, from booking the apartment, to parking, to reaching the owner with questions. Julia was always quick to respond to any questions we had. We were very well-cared for and would definitely stay here again.
I recently stayed at the Grande White Loft on a visit to Manhattan with my eldest son. My son had just graduated from high school. This trip was meant to be a reward for his hard work and a chance for us to spend time together. I wanted the trip to be special. We could not have chosen a better place for our visit.
The Upper East Side is one of the premier neighborhoods in the world for a reason. It's clean, quiet and safe refuge in the busiest city in America. The building is on a street with little to no traffic, yet steps from Central Park. The Met is a short walk as is the nearest subway. There are many fabulous restaurants in walking distance as well as a decent grocer.
The unit itself was exactly as described in the advert. The Loft is bright, airy and spacious, a welcome change from the typical NYC hotel room. Julia and Claudio, the owners, are very nice people and live on the upper floors of the townhouse. The were attentive to our every need without being obtrusive and we felt very welcome staying in their home. Highly recommended.
We arrived in NYC and our lodging arrangements fell through. After some frantic searching, we found Julia's townhouse, and it turned out to be absolutely perfect for our family of 5. The place is gorgeous, the entryway downstairs is almost a museum in itself. The unit is arranged so that the kids got the day bed and pullout and the adults could stay up late in the bedroom and keep the lights on. The location is awesome, and if you want to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, you'l have a hard time finding a more convenient location. Central Park is a half block away and there's easy access to the subway, and it's easy to hail a taxi on 5th Avenue or Madison Ave for longer journeys. Julia was very helpful in finding our way around the city. I hope this unit is available for our next trip to NYC and definitely recommend it to other travelers.
2 physician husband and wife with 3 children (ages 11, 8 , 6 ) stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday in the Grand White Loft. It was clean, bright, modern and close to subway and steps to Central Park. I particularly appreciated the clean, high quality linens and air quality. We walked to the Thanksgiving day parade and Tavern on the Green for dinner. Paid a few dollars to have groceries delivered prior to our arrival - great timesaver. Julia ( manager and housekeeper ) arranged for a car to and from the airport which was much cheaper than I have arranged in the past. I enjoyed being able to access our apartment quickly as we were in and out several times a day and I was so happy to avoid the long hotel waits for elevator and long hallways. My children played in Central Park several times a day and entered through the picturesque inscribed "Children's Gate " at Central Park. The daily housekeeping and laundry service was a great bonus for our busy family of five. You will be pleased if you choose this location. Enjoy!
Staying in Julia and Claudio’s townhouse means perfect Upper East Side location, great and stylish apartments, and very good and friendly service from owners as well as from their associates. As opposed to many hotels, the advertised description of the apartment, the service and the facilities was spot on correct. For our family of four, the apartment here was way better than staying in multiple rooms in a random hotel. The location is in the city's absolutely best neighborhood between Central Park and Maddison Avenue, very safe and with some of the best shopping and dining experiences literally within 2 minutes walking distance. Julia and Claudio live in the same house, and take a lot of pride in their guests’ well-being and comfort. When we arrived, some basic grocery shopping had been done for us already, and during our stay the apartment was perfectly cleaned up daily and clothes picked up for day-to-day washing. All service to make our stay as pleasant as possible was provided at no extra costs, and without any expectations from staff for additional payment or tips. Anyone travelling knows that a thing or two often turn out differently than expected: When we arrived in the airport, the queue for passport checking was extreme. Julia had already arranged a comfortable pick-up service for us, but 2 hours waiting in line was not part of the driver’s plan. However, Julia kept us and the driver informed through SMS, and when we finally got through, she had also negotiated a favorable price way below the standard rate for the drivers waiting. This kind of dedication and caring about the visitors makes it very easy to recommend Julia and Claudio’s townhouse to others. New York certainly offers many different neighborhoods and accommodations with very different price tags. My family and I have already recommended staying with Julia and Claudio to friends and family, if going to Upper East Side, and if going for great comfort and service.
We are Canadian and have travelled extensively all over the world. Therefore we have had many experiences with which to compare Property 808231. It is certainly the best place I have stayed in NYC, and I have stayed at some very nice hotels in this beautiful city. This, however, is different - Property 808231 gives you all the comfort of a good hotel with the feeling of community and a local experience. That is priceless.
My husband and I stayed in this fabulous townhouse in August with our daughter and son-in-law and their 9 month old baby. They stayed in the Grand White Loft and we in the Petit flat. Both were extremely clean and comfortable. The Petit Flat is just that - tres petit - but it is indeed "charmant" and suited our purposes perfectly. We gathered as a family in the Loft and used the petit flat as our bedroom.
The location is fantastic - right next to Central Park and around the corner from wonderful shopping and restaurants. The Met and the Frick are very close by and walking through the park made trips further afield very enjoyable!
We had some unexpected business to transact while we in the city and Julia was helpful and delightful in arranging details for us. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt like house guests, but with full concierge service and daily housekeeping. It couldn't have been nicer.
My benchmark for a really good vacation is when I start to look at real estate to buy in the neighbourhood. However with Julia's townhouse on a perfect corner of the Upper East Side I have found my own little getaway!
