We are situated on the edge of a South facing village 390 metres above sea level, in the Bourbonnaise Mountains. The area around us is rural with fields, woods, and streams and in the background the mountains rising to 450 m, with skying in the winter. To the west of us is the spa town of Vichy with its famous thermal spa, and also the old market town of Cusset with its theatre and restaurants. Approximately, 10 kms from us in the mountains is the pretty old village of Chatel Montagne with its famous Romanesque Church, and about the village are many craftsmen, including, potters, artists, a glass blower, basket weaver, to mention just a few. Mayet Montagne is also about 10 kms from us and is a market village with a market each Monday. There are lovely drives into the mountains, travelling east, dropping down into the Loire Valley, near Roanne. To the north is the old Chateau town of Lapalisse, again with an open air market every Thursday.Approximately 50 minutes from us to the South West is the volcanic area of several extinct volcanoes of Puy de Dome, Puy Sancy, etc worthwhile exploring.
Other Activities: Le PAL theme park. Volcanica Old city of Moulins, many restaurants inc a famous 3 star Michelin in Roanne ( where Master Chef went on TV.
Golf: many good Golf courses around Vichy ( 20 Kms )
Ski: Logis de Gare at 1287 metres altitude ( 25 Kms ) with several facilities including ski lifts etc
