Wonderful apartment; great value
Our family of four (two adults and two teenagers) just completed an enjoyable one week stay at the two-bedroom, two-bath Colle Vaticano apartment in the Prati section of Rome (just northwest of the Vatican). The apartment is a two block walk from the Valle Aurelia metro station and about a half mile walk from the entrance to the Vatican museums.
The apartment is reasonably spacious. Big plusses are the good sized kitchen, the air conditioning in the two bedrooms, the washing machine, internet access, an elevator, and a good price. The only two drawbacks are that the flat fronts to a busy and noisy intersection and is just at the fringes of walking range to central Rome. If you purchase a Roma Card or a three-day metro pass you'll be able to get to everything easily. Overall, these are very good, comfortable accommodations, which are well worth the price if you are traveling as a family or small group.
During our stay, we were able to advantage of a grocery store about two blocks away, an excellent bakery about three blocks away, and several good restaurants that were close to the Vatican.
We recommend it highly!
